The Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery is one of Japan's oldest and unique whisky producers. They use unique, cast Zemon pot stills to distill a heavily peated whisky, which is also unusual for Japanese whisky. The distillery is known for its small-scale, traditional approach to its peated whisky, for which it uses Scottish barley malt and regional barley malt dried over Scottish peat.
