The Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery is one of Japan's oldest and unique whisky producers. They use unique, cast Zemon pot stills to distill a heavily peated whisky, which is also unusual for Japanese whisky.
Although one of Japan's oldest distilleries, Saburomaru isn't well known outside Japan. But after its 2016 renovation and bottlings like this, that might change. The Emperor is a single malt whisky, distilled from peated Scottish malt. (48% ABV)

In 2016, the Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery, one of Japan's oldest distilleries, was renovated, including the installation of unique stills. Since then, the whisky has become increasingly popular. This is a blend based on their peated single malt. (48%)
