The Tormore Distillery only opened its doors in mid-Speyside in 1960. Next to the picturesque distillery is a village in the same style, intended for the staff. Tormore was intended as a supplier of single malt whisky for various blends. Although Tormore releases its own single malt bottlings, it is mainly independent bottlers that score well with bottlings of this slightly peated whisky, usually aged in bourbon casks. In 2022, the distillery was acquired by Elixir Distillers. Production was temporarily halted at that time. It will be reintroduced in 2026.
For four years, no new bottlings were released from the Tormore Distillery, but production resumed in 2026. This 12-year-old Tormore single malt matured in an intriguing variety of casks: bourbon, cream sherry, and toasted American white oak. (46% ABV)
After four years of silence, Tormore Distillery is back with new bottlings—including this 16-year-old single malt finished in carefully selected sherry casks. A creamy, oily whisky with notes of dried fruit, spicy oak, nuts, raisins and vanilla. (46.8%)
A Tormore single malt whisky, distilled in 1966—six years after the distillery opened. After maturing for 16 years in a sherry cask, this Speysider was bottled for the Italian firm Samaroli in 1982. And now, it boasts a score of over 94 points! (57%)
The pre-release of the 2026 relaunch of Tormore single malt whisky has already appeared, but this is an 'old' bottling, from 2016. And what an old one! 28 years old, bourbon-matured, and bottled at 50.4% cask strength by Antique Lions of Spirits.
