SHIPPING UPDATE 27-05-2021:
-Due to changes in the shipping policy of our shipping partner, we are currently not able to ship parcels to the USA.
We are working hard to find a solution for this problem, but this is going to take some time. In the meantime you still have some bottles stored at our shop. We will contact you personally to make sure that you will receive your bottles.
We apologize for this sudden change in our shipping policy, but unfortunately this is out of our hands. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or suggestions. It will be our priority to get your bottles to you.
Rest assured that in the meantime we will not be tempted to open them and they are safely stored at Whiskybase.
-Due to Brexit, shipments to the United Kingdom are currently not possible.
-Worldwide shipping with DHL Parcel is not possible anymore, we use DHL Express instead.
-We have to describe the contents of our parcels accurately. Meaning that on the customs form we declare the contents of the parcel as whisky, with the corresponding HS numbers, and as commercial goods. The value on the invoice cannot be lowered.
After you place an order and complete the payment you will receive an order confirmation. We will then collect your bottles and pack them securely in our sturdy, neutral boxes or we will store them in our warehouse for future shipment if you have selected ‘hold for later shipment’.
Bottles themselves are tightly wrapped in bubble wrap and fixed in place in the box to prevent damage to the labels or packaging.
During the week we usually pack and ship your parcel within 24 hours.
Your shipment will be handed to the shipping company on Monday to Friday. We always use registered mail to ensure that the intended person will receive the shipment.
This option enables you to combine multiple orders into one parcel to save on shipping costs. You can find an overview of your purchased bottles in your personal Whiskybase Shop account.
Whenever you are ready to have your bottles shipped, send an email to [email protected] and we will create a shipping quote for you once we know the weight of your parcel.
This service is free and you will only pay for the actual shipping costs. However, this service is meant for you to combine your orders into one shipment, not to store your bottles for long periods of time.
Orders on hold older than 14 days cannot be cancelled.
Delivery times may vary and we have very limited control over this. During the week we usually pack and ship your parcel within 24 hours.
If you are on a deadline (the bottle is a present, you are organizing a tasting or just eagerly awaiting the delivery of your bottle), please consider the following:
- Delivery times within the Netherlands, to Germany and Belgium in most cases takes 1 or 2 days.
- Customs can play a big role in slowing down the delivery process. This is out of our control.
- Due to COVID-19 delivery times may vary. DHL Express is still very reliable for worldwide delivery with a maximum of 5 days.
We provide track and trace links for every shipment. You can check the status of your shipment by using the link we provide.
Please be patient if your parcel is being held by customs. We have no control over this process.
Be aware that sometimes an additional tracking link is provided by the operator in your country.
Within the European Union our parcels are insured up to €500. Outside of the European Union you can choose to adopt insurance for an additional €5 per parcel. You will receive a full refund in the unlikely event of a broken or missing bottle.
