It has been quiet for a few years around the Dutch bottler WhiskyNerds, known for its 'mature' bottlings, but pay attention, here is another one: a 22-year-old Ben Nevis. The classic Highland single malt whisky matured in a bourbon hogshead. (52.4% ABV)
This Lockdown bottling from the Polish The Taste of Whisky proves that there were still things to enjoy during the pandemic. It is an 8-year-old single malt whisky from the Speyside region, matured in 1st-fill bourbon and PX casks. A warming dram. (59.5%)
Scotland's oldest independent bottler, Cadenhead, bottled this Tomatin single malt whisky in 2019 specifically for the Japanese market. The Highland whisky matured for 10 years in a bourbon cask before being released at a cask strength of 59.1% ABV.
There are whisky enthusiasts who still regret the closure of the Lochside Distillery in 1992. The single malt whisky from the Highland distillery was highly acclaimed! With this 15-year-old bottling from 2005, we hope to offer some consolation. (50%)
The curtain finally fell on the Imperial Speyside distillery, which dates back to 1897, in 1998, and new bottlings of this single malt whisky are hardly released anymore. Fortunately, we have one from 2009 on offer! 19 years old, at 53.9%.
This Bowmore was hand-filled in 2017 by a visitor to the distillery in Bowmore, the capital of Islay. It is a single malt that matured for 17 years in a first-fill sherry cask. An oily sherry bomb with maritime notes and mild peat smoke. (56.9% ABV)
This is another Ardnamurchan single malt whisky that matured entirely in sherry casks (1st-fill PX and Oloroso). The spirit that went into those casks was partly peated, partly unpeated. So, you can certainly call this a special Ardnamurchan. (50% ABV)
About ten years ago, Whisky-Doris released this 26-year-old, sherry-aged Irish single malt whisky in the Nose Art series. It was a bullseye once again! The whisky scored high immediately and now stands at nearly 91 points. (45.6% ABV)
This is the first bottling in the new Waypoint series from Highland distillery Loch Lomond. The whisky, distilled in the unique Loch Lomond stills, matured for 16 years in various types of bourbon casks, including a finish in cognac casks. (46.2%)
Glencadam does things differently for a change: they didn't finish this single malt in red Port casks (Ruby or Tawny Port or so), but this Glencadam is finished in white Port casks! That results in a completely different flavour profile. (46% ABV)
Behind a humorous label, Brühler Whiskyhaus bottled this single malt whisky from the south coast of the whisky island of Islay in 2019. According to some, it may be a Lagavulin. The whisky matured for 10 years in a PX sherry cask and is bottled at 48.2%.
In 2017, Cadenhead released a 27-year-old bottling of the solid Speyside single malt Glentauchers in the Warehouse Tasting - Cask Ends series. The whisky, with the 1989 vintage, matured in a bourbon hogshead. Fruity, sweet, floral, and woody notes. 52.9%
Holyrood Distillery, founded in 2019, produces single malt whisky based on various old Edinburgh brewing and distillery recipes. As a result, just about every bottling has its own style. This Pitch matured in oloroso casks and is bottled at 49.4% ABV.
The Indian Amrut Distillery bottled this The Dutch Kumbha, inspired by the sacred vessel containing the nectar of immortality, especially for the Dutch market. The single malt whisky is finished in sherry casks. At a great price! (46% ABV)
This US*1 Single Barrel Straight Rye is a somewhat older bottling from Michter's Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. A single-cask bottling, with the flavour profile naturally featuring rye notes, but also caramel, vanilla, maple syrup, and spices. 42.4%
This US*1 Small Batch Bourbon is a somewhat older bottling from Michter's Distillery, which has its roots in 18th-century America. A full-bodied, sweet Kentucky straight bourbon with distinct caramel and vanilla notes, spicy and creamy. (45.7%)
You don't come across a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey finished in French wine casks every day. So, attention for this Daviess County from Lux Row Distillers! Distilled from corn, wheat, rye, and barley and finished in Cabernet Sauvignon casks. (48%)
Bottler Cadenhead released this Littlemill bottling in 2019, in a limited edition of 270 bottles, after the Lowland single malt had matured for 27 years in a bourbon hogshead. It is bottled at 49.8% and scores almost 89 points on Whiskybase.
In 2026, the Fèis Ìle festival on Islay celebrates its 40th anniversary. To celebrate, Douglas Laing released this Big Peat. The blend of Caol Ila, Bowmore, Ardbeg, and Port Ellen malts is finished in PX casks and bottled at 52.6%. A festive bottling!
In 1949, Tullibardine Distillery opened its doors as the first new distillery in Scotland in the 20th century. In 2026, bottler Maltbarn released this 9-year-old Tullibardine single malt whisky. The Highlander matured in a bourbon cask. (55.6% ABV)
A 14-year-old single malt at 57.1% ABV for this price? You can't pass that up! It is a Glen Elgin finished in an Oloroso sherry cask and bottled by Signatory Vintage in their 100 Proof series, praised for its excellent price-quality ratio.
In collaboration with Vila Konthor, The Whisky Agency released this Glen Garioch bottling. The single malt from one of Scotland's oldest distilleries matured for 13 years in a Ruby port cask. Dark chocolate, farmyard, coffee, wax and leather. (49.7% ABV)
You don't come across many new Littlemill bottlings these days. But older bottlings like this one from Malts of Scotland are worth mentioning. The Littlemill single malt matured in a sherry cask for over 25 years, from 1988 to 2013. (52.1% ABV)
Malts of Scotland bottled this highly regarded Littlemill single malt in 2015 specifically for a German flying club. The whisky from the Lowland distillery, which closed in 1996, matured for about 25 years in a bourbon cask and was bottled at 50.2% ABV.
