A blended whisky from the Japanese distillery Eigashima Shuzo. Something different than the well-known Scottish blends. And at a reasonable price, especially for a Japanese whisky.
The Legacy is the 'entry-level model' of Highland distillery Tomatin. Matured in bourbon and new oak casks, this malt has notes of pear, citrus, pineapple and vanilla, with some pepper and cocoa in the taste. And that at 43% and at a modest price.
A good example of a soft, triple distilled Irish whiskey. This Tullamore dew is uncomplicated, with grassy, floral and fruity notes. No whisky that will stay with you for a long time, but it is pleasant to drink and also very reasonably priced.
Young and powerful, that's this Teaninich single malt whisky in two words. The House of MacDuff bottled this malt at cask strength (62.3%) after 9 years of aging. Apart from independent bottlings like this, you won't find Teaninich whisky in the store.
With the Port Ruighe bottlings, Talisker releases a single malt whisky matured on Ruby port casks. This probably young dram is sweet and uncomplicated, with clear port influences, peat and salty notes in the background. A pleasantly drinkable dram.
The Ileach is a great introduction to the world of peated Islay single malt whisky. We don't know which Islay single malt is in the bottle. But this uncomplicated dram makes it immediately clear to the beginner whether he likes Islay peat smoke or not.
Included in the core series of Highland distiller Tomatin, this 14-year-old single malt has been finished on port casks. You will detect the influence of the port cask in nose and taste, especially in the tones of red fruit and dark chocolate. At 46%.
This 18-year-old single malt whisky is one of the core bottlings of the Tomatin Distillery. This single malt is uncomplicated and nicely balanced. The sherry finishing gives him notes of chocolate and orange. All in all a great standard bottling!
Not only that it comes from Switzerland makes this single malt whisky special, but also that it matured in beer casks. And that it has its own unique character, with many smoky notes such as bacon and campfire, meaty and sweet. Complex and easy to drink!
You will never know for sure which Islay single malt whisky a Port Askaig is, but with this 8-year-old dram you can taste that it is an Islay-peated whisky immediately. Despite its youth, it is quite complex, but very pleasant to drink. Bottled at 45.8%.
That Coffey in the name refers to the type of still with which this whisky was made. Normally single malt whisky is made with pot stills. That makes this Japanese Nikka malt whisky quite special. This whisky received various prizes and awards. 45%
A beautiful Japanese blended whisky at cask strength (51.4%), this Nikka. The single malt and grain whiskies in this blend all come from the own Nikka distilleries. Good balance between malt, grain and cask and complex. A blend to come home with!
Has nothing to do with coffee, Coffey is the type of still with which this Japanese blended grain whisky is made. That resulted in a fruity, light, pleasantly drinkable dram, a whisky for those long summer evenings. Bottled at 45%.
In 2015, edition 06.1 of Bruichladdie’s most heavily peated single malt whisky, Octomore, was released. Distilled from Scottish barley (which yields less alcohol but more flavour), the whisky matured in American oak casks for 5 years. (57.0%)
A not very complex, flexible young single malt whisky, this Oban Little Bay. He is reminiscent of Oban's 14-year standard bottling, but is sweeter and more malty. A great dram for everyday life, or for an evening with friends. Nothing wrong with it.
Originally available at travel retail, but that was years ago. This Octomore has matured in
Ex Eau-de-Vie Limousin Oak Casks. Giving it a very unique flavour profile. A perfect addition to your collection.
Oban is one of Scotland's oldest, still active distilleries. This 14-year-old standard malt shows the basic character of Oban well: juicy orange, malt, salty and a hint of smoke, oily in the mouth. And that for a reasonable price.
According to our records, Michter’s Distillery is closed. But we still have this Single Barrel straight rye whiskey for the enthusiast. Woodchips, liquorice, maple and cough syrup are the dominant notes, with flowers and pepper underneath. 42.4%
Not very complex, but a broad and elegant taste palette. Some call this single malt whisky from the Japanese Miyagikyo distillery a 'summer whisky'. Subtle notes of fruit, sherry, wood and grain and a hint of smoke: a pleasantly drinkable dram.
A special bottling for the French La Maison du Whisky, this Michter’s bourbon whiskey. We don't dare say how old this bourbon is, but that could be surprising. Michter's bourbon is made according to a recipe from 1753. (45.7%)
