Single malt whisky is a mixture of malt whisky from casks of the same distillery. Malt whisky is made from barley malt and distilled in pot stills, and has matured for at least 3 years in oak barrels. This whisky usually has a for the distillery characteristic flavor. Is considered the classic whisky.
This Glenallachie single malt is really a whisky for at the fireplace. It matured for 12 years in a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, from which it was bottled at a solid 61%. A dram to enjoy while sipping. It was specially bottled for the Netherlands.

The young Irish distillery Glendalough sometimes finishes its whisky in exceptional casks. They also did this with this 7-year-old single malt whisky. After maturing in bourbon casks, it was finished in Japanese Mizunara casks that give extra depth. (46%)
This is not just any 8 year old Glendronach single malt whisky. You can tell by the bottle (a Dumpy Green Bottle, 75 cl, with a withered, discolored seal). This is a bottling from perhaps the 1970s, maybe earlier. This is a real 'old skool' dram! (43%)
A fine example of what Glendronach is famous for: sherried whiskies. Let this 12-year-old 'breathe' for a few minutes, and then taste the nice balance between the spirit and the PX and oloroso casks on which it matured. For a reasonable price. At 43%.
One of Scotland's older single malt whisky distilleries, Glendronach in the Speyside, is best known for its sherried whisky. And within those sherried bottlings, the 15-year-old Revival series is a classic. This is the 2022 release, bottled at 46%.
In 2012, the first batch of the Cask Strength series from Highland distillery Glendronach was released. It is known for its sherried single malt whisky, and this bottling certainly contributed to that: it matured in Oloroso and PX casks. Bottled at 54.8%.

Glendullan single malt whisky is relatively unknown, except in America where it is marketed as Singleton of Glendullan. Here is a bottling from Van Wees in their The Ultimate series. The malt matured for 13 years in a bourbon cask and was bottled at 46%.
For the American market, distillery Glendullan releases its single malt whisky as The Singleton of Glendullan. Otherwise, we depend on bottlings like this 100 Proof Edition #32 from Signatory Vintage. (11 years old, Oloroso sherry matured, 57.1%)
Also in terms of price this 10 year old Glenfarclas is a fine 'entry-level' single malt. Light, fruity 'Speyside' tones combined with malt, a hint of smoke and the sweetness of sherry make this whisky easy to drink. At 40%.
Speyside distillery Glenfarclas is known for its bottlings that matured on sherry casks. A good example is this 12 year old with its full taste and notes of light and dark fruit and sherry. It is therefore one of the core bottlings of Glenfarclas. (43%)
A special The Family Casks bottling from Speyside distillery Glenfarclas. In 1987 the single malt whisky went into the cask, a refill sherry cask, and more than 30 years later in 2018 it was bottled at a cask strength of 46% in an edition of 588 bottles.
This is the vintage 1989 bottling in the Summer 2021 series, aged in a sherry cask of course. Bottled at 51.9%.
