Acorn is a relatively small bottler from Japan. Their biggest market is Japan itself, but they now also have outlets in Australia, Germany, the Netherlands and Taiwan.
At the end of the 90s, their first own bottlings came out. Since then, Acorn has regularly released high quality single cask bottlings.
This is another solid bottling from the Japanese bottler Acorn. Behind the classic label lies a 24-year-old Glen Grant single malt whisky, released in the Friends of Oak series. The whisky matured in a bourbon cask, from which 141 bottles came at 55.6%.
The Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay makes an unpeated single malt whisky under its own name. They also produce the heavily peated Port Charlotte and the very heavily peated Octomore. And Lochindaal, which is in between. This one is 10 years old. (63.3%)
Finally another bottling of the Japanese Acorn in the house! In the Musicienne series, the bottler released this Blair Athol single malt whisky. The distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland. This 12-year-old edition matured in a bourbon cask. (56.5%)
A joint bottling between bottler Acorn and ARen Trading, this Miltonduff single malt whisky. Speyside distillery Miltonduff exists nearly a century and its whisky often appears as an independent bottling. Like this 12 year old, 62.6% (!) strong edition.
