Gordon & MacPhail started in 1895 in Elgin, Scotland, as a delicatessen. And it still exists! As a speciality, the company focused on maturing and bottling malt whisky. And in that, they have become huge. More than 8000 bottlings are now in their name, including quite a few legendary ones.
Well-known series include Connoisseurs Choice and Reserve. The company not only has its own storage for whisky casks but, since 1993, also its own distillery: Benromach.
Under the Gordon & MacPhail banner, James Gordon Whisky Co. bottled this Auchroisk single malt whisky in the Spirit of Scotland series. The Speysider aged for 11 years in a refill bourbon cask. Fresh and sweet citrus notes, pineapple, and honey. (57.5%)
Quality bottler Gordon & MacPhail has a favourably priced bottling series in Spirit of Scotland. In this series, this Tomatin single malt whisky was released in 2026. The Highlander matured in a refill bourbon cask and is bottled at 58.1% cask strength.
Bottler Gordon & MacPhail has had a Spirit of Scotland series for years. This series features exclusive single-cask bottlings at cask strength of Scotch whiskies, such as this 14-year-old, bourbon-aged, subtly fruity Strathmill single malt. (55% ABV)
