Caol Ila 2010 Berry Bros & Rudd for Whiskybase

Our tasting notes:

Nose: bonfire ashes, red fruits (both dried and juicy), a well-loved leather library chair, supermarket cola, that friendly neighborhood bar where smokers are allowed after hours, a wine cellar full of plump raisins

Taste: smoked meats, jamon iberico, goji berries, raspberry jam, dark chocolate, cherry cola with a twist of lime

Finish: long and mouth watering, cacao powder, fresh ground coffee, chocolate malt

Overall: We’re so pleased to strike a balance between Caol Ila’s distillery character and quality Pedro Ximenez maturation. All the classic Caol Ila notes are there, interwoven with so many exciting and vibrant cask-driven contributions. Chef’s kiss!
