Tamdhu 12-year-old

Speyside distillery Tamdhu makes its single malt whisky to mature almost exclusively in sherry casks. This also applies to his 12-year-old standard bottling. For those who love sherried whisky: this is a pleasantly drinkable, nicely balanced dram.

Woodford Reserve - Straight Wheat Whiskey

The Woodford Reserve Distillery is at the heart of 'bourbon country' and produces its whisky according to tradition with copper pot stills. But don't expect a bourbon in this bottle: it is a Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey. Be surprised! 45.2%

Wild Turkey Rare Breed - 58.4%

The Wild Turkey Distilling Co. in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky releases a solid straight bourbon whiskey with this bottling at 58.4%. A bourbon full of fruit, but also with chocolate and spices such as cinnamon. Not an average bourbon in any case.

Ardbeg Galileo

This is a dram that was talked about a lot at the release. Because of the marketing of this bottle (a tribute to an experiment in which 4 Ardbeg samples went into space). But also because of the quality of the single malt whisky itself. A true Ardbeg!

Arran 1999 - The Golden Eagle

This is No. 4 in the bottling series Icons of Arran: The Golden Eagle. This bottling of the Arran Distillery came out in 2012. The 12-year-old single malt whisky matured on 14 bourbon and 7 sherry casks, which resulted in a nice mix of cask-influences.

Arran 1998 - The Westie

This bottling came out in the Icons of Arran series in 2011. 6,000 bottles of Arran single malt whisky, vintage 1998, that matured in sherry casks. So, dating from the early years of Arran. A nicely balanced malt in which the sherry does not dominate. 46%

Glenlivet 1952 Lateltin

With this Glenlivet we have something special in our shop. It went into the cask in 1952 and was bottled by the Swiss Lateltin after an unknown period. The bottle has a screw cap, and whatever the label says, it's a single malt whisky!

Aberlour A'bunadh batch #65

A true classic in the world of sherryed single malt whisky, the Aberlour A'bunadh. This is the 65th batch already. Matured in oloroso-sherry casks and at a cask strength of 59.5%, this is a nice, warm whisky for the cold winter days.

Bushmills Black Bush

In 1608 the Irish Bushmills received its first distillery license. That year is also proudly printed at this bottling's label. Released for the Italian market, this Black Bush single malt whiskey matured in sherry casks. It is bottled at 40%.

Monkey Shoulder - Smokey Monkey Batch 9

After the Monkey Shoulder blended malt whisky Smooth and Rich, William Grant & Sons now comes with the Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey. As the name implies, this blend of Scottish malts has smoky notes, besides notes like peach, apple, chocolate, and coffee

Auchroisk 2010 Brachadair

You will rarely come across a bottling of the Auchroisk Distillery itself. For this Speyside single malt whisky we have to wait for bottlings like this one by Brachadair. The Auchroisk matured for 8 years on an Oloroso sherry cask and was bottled at 59.7%

Kilkerran 15-year-old - Bottled for Bresser & Timmer

Campbeltown distillery Glengyle started in 2004 with the production of Kilkerran single malt whisky. In that same year, this batch was casked. A Fino sherry puncheon to be precise. In September 2019 it was bottled at cask strength (51.6%).

Hibiki Japanese Harmony Suntory Whisky

The Hibiki Harmony is a blended Japanese whisky. So, a combination of malt and grain whisky. The Harmony matured in 5 different types of casks, such as bourbon and sherry casks and Japanese mizunara oak casks. It is bottled by Suntory Whisky at 43%.

Isle of Jura 12-year-old

With 12 years of aging in bourbon barrels, including finishing on oloroso-sherry casks and a strength of 40%, you could call this Isle of Jura single malt whisky for this price a good entry-level dram. Easy to drink, more modest than in your face.

Ezra Brooks 7-year-old

This Old Ezra 7 Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, a sub-brand of Ezra Brooks, is produced by Luxco in Kentucky. The bourbon aged for 7 years in charred casks, which you will find in the nose. The sweet notes also come from the cask. At 58.5% or 117 proof

Ezra Brooks Straight Rye Whiskey

The Ezra Brooks Straight Rye Whiskey is, as we know, the first rye whisky from this brand. Most rye whisky, with its specific character, comes from the US and Canada. Just like this one. Matured in new American oak, bottled at 45%.

Arran Quarter Cask - 56.2%

'Quarter Cask' the name says it all: This Arran single malt whisky is aged in small casks. The smaller the cask, the greater the wood influence, the faster the maturation appears to be. This also applies to this distillery bottling at cask strength (56.2%

Tullamore Dew XO

An Irish whiskey with a Caribbean edge, this Tullamore dew XO. For a very reasonable price you get a nice drinkable and smooth whiskey with sweet, tropical notes from the rum casks on which it was finished. A whiskey for a summer evening.

Tullamore Dew 12-year-old

Are you looking for a pleasant drinkable, smooth and uncomplicated Irish whiskey, then this 12-year-old Tullamore dew is the one. This Special Reserve is distilled three times. It matured for 12 years in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. At 40%.

Smokehead High Voltage Ian Macleod

Smokehead is a single malt whisky brand from bottler Ian Macleod. Just like with the earlier Smokehead bottlings, this is an anonymous peated islay whisky. And the age of this bottling is also unknown. The ABV content is a solid 58%.

Ailsa Bay Release 1.2 Sweet Smoke

Ailsa Bay Distillery is specially built to make single malt whisky in 4 types for the blend industry. Yet this new Lowlander sometimes releases its own bottling. Like this peated Sweet Smoke. Matured in American casks. We are curious! 48.9%

Fettercairn 12-year-old

Some call this a 'summer whisky' or aperitif because of its light, fruity and uncomplicated character. This 12-year-old single malt whisky from Highland distillery Fettercairn matured in bourbon barrels and is bottled at 40%.

Glenrothes 11-year-old Gordon & MacPhail

Gordon & MacPhail had this Glenrothes single malt whisky mature for 11 years in their own sherry casks. You can therefore see this bottling as a co-production of distiller and bottler. The result is a pleasantly drinkable, fruity dram with sherry notes.

Irish Single Malt Whiskey 2002 Brachadair

Do you like Irish whiskey? Maybe you can taste from which distillery this Irish single malt whisky comes. Bottler Brachadair does not mention the name. Éirinn go Brách says the label, and that the whisky is 16 years old and aged on bourbon ...
