Campbeltown was once called the Whisky Capital of the World with its 34 distilleries. By 1930 there was only one distillery, Springbank, left. Since the beginning of this century there are now 3 distilleries. And with that Campbeltown can officially call itself a Scottish whisky region. The town lies on the Kintyre peninsula on the west coast of Scotland.
This 15-year-old single malt is a good example of Campbeltown whisky in general and of Glen Scotia in particular. This standard bottling has a lot of character with its typical mineral notes and a hint of smoke and salt. Worth considering!
Longrow is the most peated single malt whisky from the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. This is a special Longrow: the malt matured for 23 years in a former rum cask and was then bottled in only 204 bottles at 42% cask strength. So, be quick!
A new Springbank 15 edition. This single malt whisky from Campbeltown aged in bourbon and sherry casks, and was bottled at 46%. Springbank whisky has its own, very recognizable and appreciated character. This also applies to this nicely priced bottle.
Springbank is the only larger Scottish distillery where the entire production process of single malt-whisky takes place on site, manually, from malting to cask storage. You can taste that, like with this new 10 year old bottling: a real old school malt!

Due to its age, in this Longrow, the peated single malt whisky from the Springbank Distillery, you will only find subtle smoke notes. Mineral and maritime notes blend perfectly with the notes of the sherry and bourbon casks on which the whisky matured.
A 2017 bottling from Campbeltown distillery Glengyle, this 8-year-old Kilkerran single malt whisky was released in the Cask Strength series. The whisky matured in bourbon casks and was bottled at, yes, a cask strength of 56.2% ABV.
