As most of the production goes to the blending industry, Glen Elgin, like many other Speyside distilleries, is not that well known. But that says nothing about the quality of the single malt whisky. Try this 11-year-old, madeira-finished dram (59.1%).
A joint bottling between bottler Acorn and ARen Trading, this Miltonduff single malt whisky. Speyside distillery Miltonduff exists nearly a century and its whisky often appears as an independent bottling. Like this 12 year old, 62.6% (!) strong edition.
The Tamnavulin Distillery is one that was built to meet the demand from whisky blenders for single malt whisky. But apart from blends, you can also taste Tamnavulin 'pure', for example with bottlings like this 14-year-old one from Cadenhead. (46%)
Taiwanese Whisky AGE has not been around as a bottler for very long yet but has already built up a good name. One of their latest bottlings is this Glenrothes single malt whisky. The Speysider matured in a bourbon cask for 23 years and is bottled at 55.1%
Fruity & Fierce, Spicy & Smooth' is how bottler Ian Macleod characterizes this Smokehead Blast. It is, as always, a peated Islay single malt whisky, but this one is finished in oloroso sherry casks. A full, creamy, complex, and quite smoky dram. (48%)
A few years ago, bottler Turntable Spirits was established in Glasgow. They specialise in blending whisky, and this Radar Love is a prime example. The label lists the whiskies used for the blend, which was finished for 14 months in moscatel casks. (55.8%)
That Compass Box is a specialist in the inventive blending of Scotch whisky is also made clear with this edition in their Core Collection. The Nectarosity is a blend of malt and grain whiskies with a wealth of honey, fruit and toasted oak notes. 46%
Little is known about the Dutch bottler Sherwoods, except that it bottles standard at cask strength. We think this is its fourth bottling. It is a 13-year-old Tamnavulin single malt whisky at 57.6%, that matured in a bourbon hogshead. Curious?
Specially bottled for the Netherlands, this single cask bottling of the American Westward Whiskey. Outside of the US and Australia, you won't easily come across Westward whisky, so extra special, this single malt whisky finished in a stout cask! (50%)
This Teaninich single malt whisky matured for more than 12 years, most of which in a bourbon cask, but the last year in a small cask that previously had Hungarian wine matured. Berry Bros & Rudd bottled 163 bottles of Teaninich at 55.5% from that cask.

This new Limited Edition bottling in the Wood Collection series from Speyside distillery Glenallachie is finished in Fino sherry casks. Fino is the driest of all types of sherry. That gives this 9-year-old single malt whisky salty and almond notes. (48%)
The artisanal The Clydeside Distillery opened its doors on Stobcross Road in Glasgow in January 2018. And this is their Stobcross single malt whisky. A young whisky of course, this Lowlander, matured in bourbon and sherry casks. (46%)
And there it was, in 2008, Kavalan's first single malt whisky bottling. The distillery, opened in Taiwan in 2005, quickly became popular with its young, but thanks to the locally high temperatures, mature and flavourful whisky, often single cask. (40%)
Whiskymaker Sarah Burgess describes this Nostalgia edition from the English Lakes Distillery as a sensory journey through scents and flavours. The creamy, subtle single malt whisky is matured in Oloroso and bourbon casks and is bottled at 49%.
A rich, elegant whisky with notes of dark chocolate, black cherries, and roasted hazelnuts. That's how you could describe this 17-year-old Glenrothes single malt whisky in a nutshell. It matured in first-fill sherry casks and is bottled at 51.5% ABV.
This Dailuaine single malt whisky is finished in good old European oak Oloroso sherry casks. It matured for a total of 10 years before being bottled by James Eadie at 48.3% as a tribute to the Speyside whisky region. For a great price!
This is a surprisingly experimental bottling from Highland distillery Deanston. After being matured in bourbon casks, the single malt was finished in orange wine casks, giving it a citrus twist. In total, the whisky matured for 17 years. (53.6% ABV)
On the label you can see a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It made its maiden flight on the day the spirit for this Inchgower single malt flowed from the still. The whisky matured for 16 years and is finished in a fino sherry cask, which yielded briny notes. 56.4%
The Niigata Distillery started in 2019. Small-scale, artisanal, and with the goal of making delicious whisky. Kameda is one of their whisky brands. And this is a 3-year-old Kameda single malt, matured in a 'mini' bourbon cask and at 62.0% ! cask strength.
With the exception of two, Distillery Braeval has never released bottlings of its single malt whisky. Fortunately, independent bottlings are released regularly, allowing you to get to know and appreciate the fruity Speyside character of this malt. (60.5%)
Each step in the whisky making process of England's The Lakes Distillery is supervised by whisky maker Dhavall Gandhi. For this bottling, Gandhi carefully selected oloroso, PX and red wine casks in which the single malt whisky matured. Bottled at 52.0%.
Longrow is the highly regarded peated single malt whisky from the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. Bottler Cadenhead, also from Campbeltown, presents a Longrow, matured for an impressive 23 years in Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 43.7% ABV.
