London-based Elixir Distillers specializes in bottlings of Scotch whisky, but they also bottle American, Irish and Japanese whiskies. The company releases 3 well-known series: Elements of Islay with its striking bottles and labels, The Single Malts of Scotland with vintage whiskies from all over Scotland, and Port Askaig with bottles of unspecified Islay whiskies.
Until 2017 these series were released until 2017 under the name of Specialty Drinks Ltd., a wholesaler in spirits. Since 2017, the bottling of whisky has been housed in the independent Elixir Distillers branch.

You will never know for sure which Islay single malt whisky a Port Askaig is, but with this 8-year-old dram you can taste that it is an Islay-peated whisky immediately. Despite its youth, it is quite complex, but very pleasant to drink. Bottled at 45.8%.
