Big Peat is a brand of independent bottler Douglas Laing. Under this brand Douglas Laing releases blended malt whiskies, with a mix of smoky Islay whiskies. The Christmas editions of Big Peat are well-known.
This 10-year-old Big Peat was released by bottler Douglas Laing on the occasion of the 10-year existence of the Big Peat brand. Just like the other Big Peat's, this one is a mix of Islay malt whiskies, slightly less smoky, but also full of flavor!
Every Big Peat bottling is unique, and this 10-year-old Mizunara Cask Edition certainly is: it is finished in Japanese oak! It is one of the editions with which Douglas Laing celebrated its 75th anniversary. The blended Islay malt is bottled at 46%.

Among the hundreds of unique Big Peat bottlings, this edition, released in 2019, is a very special one: the no less than 33-year-old blend of four Islay single malts was finished in cognac and sherry casks. 1500 bottles were bottled at 47.2% ABV.
The label features a real old Big Peat, with an emblem on his shirt: 'LMDW 60 Anniversary'. This stands for the 60th anniversary of the French drinks retailer La Maison du Whisky. This edition of the Islay blended malt whisky was released in 2016. (50.0%)
