The Whiskybase shop is the only sales point in the Netherlands for Maltbarn bottlings, and we are quite proud of that. We are pleased to have this 17-year-old, bourbon-matured, 52.7% strong Orkney Malt (say, Highland Park), a single malt, on the shelf.
A good all-rounder, this Paul John Edited single malt whisky. Smoky notes combine well with notes of fruit and herbs, but vanilla, cocoa and cereals play a role too. This bottling is not very complex and is therefore pleasantly drinkable.
This Paul John single malt whisky matured on bourbon casks before it was bottled at cask strength (55.2%). A characterful dram in which fruity and meaty tones combine beautifully with, for example, coconut, malt and wood shavings. To relax and enjoy!

The age of the Penderyn Celt single malt whisky from Wales is unknown, but it is young. We do know that it finished on Islay quarter casks (Laphroaig?). That gives a touch of smoke to the taste and finish of this otherwise light dram.
If you are looking for an uncomplicated single malt whisky, for example for an evening with friends, then this Penderyn Legend is an option. Matured in bourbon and finished in madeira casks. Lots of fruit in the nose and light in taste. At 40%.
