Not as well-known as that other single malt whisky from Orkney, but definitely worth a try, as this Scapa bottling proves. The malt matured for 16 years in American oak casks, resulting in a rich dram with a vibrant and fruity profile. (48%)
Of the two Orkney distilleries, Scapa is the lesser known. Still, it doesn't hurt to take a look at their single malt whisky. Take this 16-year-old bottling, for example, with its waxy mouthfeel and complex nose. Bottled at 40% ABV.
When this Seagram's V.O. Canadian Whisky was bottled for the Dutch market, we do not know. Back then, by purchasing this 6-year-old blended Canadian whisky in a 350 ml bottle, you had a chance to win a belt, but those times are over. (40%)
The bottler does not reveal which Islay distillery this single malt comes from, but it is a considerably smoky whisky. And due to its 11 years of maturation in both bourbon and small PX casks, it is also a very sweet dram. A lovely combination! (56.6%)
