Cambus 1991 Signatory Vintage - Cask 104230

The Cambus grain distillery in the Lowlands closed in 1993, but Signatory Vintage still occasionally releases new bottlings of this single grain whisky. Here's another one! The grain is 30 years old and matured in a refill sherry cask. (54.4%)

Cley Whisky Malt & Rye - 46%

In addition to single malt whisky, the Rotterdam Cley Distillery also makes whisky based on malt and rye. The Whisky is distilled three times according to a 17th century recipe. This is a new batch of this Malt & Rye. 3 years old and bottled at 46% ABV.

Girvan 1990 Thompson Brothers

In general, single grain whisky gets a good flavor through maturation. So it's all right with this Girvan, bottled by the Thompson brothers, which matured for 32 years in two bourbon casks. A sweet and, despite its age, fresh dram. (48.7%)

Girvan 1996 The Whisky Blues

The Girvan grain distillery was built in 1963 in the Lowlands, mainly intended as a supplier of grain whisky for the blending industry. However, single grain bottlings such as this 27-year-old from The Whisky Blues are also regularly released. (55.1%)

Glendalough Double Barrel

If you want to try an Irish single grain whiskey, one that is aged on bourbon, and finished on sherry and then at a reasonable price: here is the Glendalough Double Barrel. Light, pleasant to drink, but also complex. Something different!

Invergordon 1988 Berry Bros & Rudd

Invergordon is one of the best-known and well-appreciated single grain whiskies. So pay attention to this bottling from Berry Bros & Rudd. This Invergordon matured for 34 years in a bourbon cask, a barrel. Of course,e it is bottled at cask strength: 59.6%

Invergordon 1989 Brachadair

The second Invergordon bottling from bottler Brachadair (‘Belgian roots…but Gaelic at heart’). This Invergordon single grain whisky is 33 years old. It matured all this time in a bourbon cask, a barrel. The grain was bottled in 193 bottles at 55.6%.

Nikka 12-year-old

Nikka 12-year-old

This single malt from the Nikka Single Coffey Malt series was once named Japanese Whisky of the Year in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. It is a bottling from 2008; the 12-year-old whisky comes from the Nishinomiya distillery, which closed in 1999. (55%)

Nikka Coffey Grain

Has nothing to do with coffee, Coffey is the type of still with which this Japanese blended grain whisky is made. That resulted in a fruity, light, pleasantly drinkable dram, a whisky for those long summer evenings. Bottled at 45%.

North British 1991 Brachadair

In general, single grain whisky only becomes interesting after several decades of maturation. So that's a good thing with this North British edition: the grain whisky matured for 32 years in a bourbon cask before being bottled by Brachadair at 43.1%.

North British 1991 Signatory Vintage - Cask 272163

The Cask Strength Collection from bottler Signatory Vintage is known for its quality. This single grain whisky from Lowlands distillery North British, 31 years old and matured in an Oloroso cask, appeared in that Collection at the end of 2023, at 56.1%.

North British 1991 Signatory Vintage - Cask 272183

Bottler Signatory Vintage also knows its stuff with single grain whisky. They have released dozens of often well-appreciated bottlings of North British grain alone. Here's another one in the Cask Strength Collection, 31 years old and sherry-aged. (54.3%)

North British 2008 Signatory Vintage - Single Grain Collection

One of the series from Signatory Vintage is the Single Grain Collection, a series with very attractively priced bottlings of single grain whisky, not complex, easy to drink. This is a grain from the North British Distillery, 13 years old and at 43%.

Port Dundas 1995 Signatory Vintage - cask 64907

This 28-year-old single grain whisky from the Port Dundas grain distillery, which closed in 2010, appeared in the Cask Strength Collection of Signatory Vintage. The grain matured in a bourbon cask from which 211 bottles came at a cask strength of 56.1%.

Port Dundas 2008 Signatory Vintage - cask 585869+585874

It matured in two 2nd-fill Oloroso sherry casks, this 14-year-old Port Dundas single grain whisky. The grain from the distillery that closed in 2010 was bottled in mid-2023. An edition of Signatory Vintage with an excellent price/quality ratio. (46%)

Teeling 15-year-old

The Irish Teeling released this 15-year-old single grain whisky. That is young for a single grain, but that does not detract from the drinkability: fruity and fresh, and you can clearly taste that it has been finished in sauvignon blanc casks. (50%)

Teeling Single Grain - Cabernet Sauvignon Cask

They also make single grain whisky in Ireland. The Teeling Whiskey Company already has about twenty single grain bottlings to its name. It matured in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks and is bottled at 46%. Not chill-filtered or colored.
