The Belgian Stokerij de Molenberg existed for 10 years in 2023. To celebrate this, they released a single malt whisky bottling in a multi-coloured box, the Aurora. The whisky first matured in bourbon and beer casks and was finished in Sauternes casks. 46%
Attention! The Inaugural Bottling of the young, artisanal Strathearn Distillery, owned by Douglas Laing. The small Highland distillery distils its whisky from an old type of barley malt with a lot of flavour. This Inaugural matured in 3 types of cask. 50%
The Strathmill Distillery has virtually no bottlings of its own, so we rely on bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail for their single malt whisky. In their Connoisseurs Choice series, they release this 14-year-old, bourbon-aged Strathmill. (55.3%)
Named after the 'father' of the Japanese whisky industry, this whisky is a blend of single malts from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. Nicely balanced, pleasant to drink.
The well-known 10-year-old standard bottling from the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye has been given a new look. Label and box express the maritime character of this malt, which further stands out with notes like sweet smoke, peat and pepper.
Specially for sale at airports, this Dark Storm is from the Talisker distillery on the Scottish island of Skye. A standard bottling in a liter bottle. For a long time Talisker was the only distillery on the island, recently there is a second one. Hence.
Smoke and the sea, those are the first words that come to mind with this Talisker Storm single malt whisky. In addition to yellow and red fruit, salty notes, seaweed, bacon, smoked fish play a key role. That produces an interesting dram!
Speyside distillery Tamdhu makes its single malt whisky to mature almost exclusively in sherry casks. This also applies to his 12-year-old standard bottling. For those who love sherried whisky: this is a pleasantly drinkable, nicely balanced dram.
Ámbar, amber, is the name of this Tamdhu bottling, and that undoubtedly refers to the colour of this 14-year-old single malt whisky, caused by maturation in Oloroso sherry casks. The whisky, in the characteristic Tamdhu bottles, is bottled at 43%.
This Tamdhu is a limited edition distillery bottling, not a standard edition. The Speyside single malt whisky matured in an oloroso sherry cask for 18 years, resulting in a complex, layered dram, with distinct sherry notes of course. Bottled at 46.8%.
Speyside distillery Tamdhu matures its single malt whisky almost exclusively in sherry casks. This independent bottling from Hart Brothers also matured in such a cask, a first-fill sherry butt to be precise. It is 10 years old and bottled at 57.8%.
We don't know how long this 8th batch of single malt whisky in Tamdhu's Batch Strength series aged on sherry casks. It seems to be a fairly young dram, uncomplicated and punchy. However, the sherry notes are clearly present. Bottled at 55.8% cask strength
The first batches of Tamdhu's Cigar Malt immediately scored very well. The name Cigar Malt refers to those 'old school' sherried single malt whiskies from the last century that were perfect to enjoy with an exclusive cigar. This is Batch 3. (53.8%)
Quercus Alba is Latin for white oak, specifically the American white oak. Tamdhu Distillery matures almost all of its single malt whisky in ex-sherry casks. The same goes for this Distinction edition, but here on Oloroso casks of quercus alba wood. (48%)
Established in the last century as a supplier to the blended whisky industry, Speyside distillery Tamnavulin has already released quite a few single malt whisky bottlings. In early 2020, Tamnavulin released another batch in their Sherry Cask Edition. 40%
The Tamnavulin distillery was established in 1966 to supply single malt whisky for blends such as Whyte & Mackay. Since 1988, Tamnavulin has also been releasing distillery bottlings. Like this one. A single malt finished in red wine casks. (40%, 1 Ltr)
The bottlings in Diageo's Rare Malts Selection consistently scored well. This includes this bottling of a Teaninich single malt whisky that was released in 1997. The spirit for this whisky was distilled in 1973: a real 'old skool' Teaninich! (57.1% ABV)
Gordon & MacPhail bottled this Teaninich single malt whisky for the Dutch market. The Highland malt matured for 12 years in a large sherry cask and is bottled at cask strength. Notable notes include ginger and cinnamon, orange, strawberry and cocoa. 57.9%
The Irish Teeling released this 15-year-old single grain whisky. That is young for a single grain, but that does not detract from the drinkability: fruity and fresh, and you can clearly taste that it has been finished in sauvignon blanc casks. (50%)
To celebrate that Irish whiskey is on the rise again, the Teeling family is releasing a number of special single malt whiskies in the Rising Reserve series. The first in this series is a malt that first matured in bourbon and then in Carcavelos casks. 46%
A special bottling by Teeling. This is a blended whisky that, after 6 years of maturing in bourbon casks, matured for over a year in casks in which Pineapple Rum from Plantation previously matured. A unique finishing, in our opinion. Bottled at 49.2%.
Especially for the Dutch market (but with us available worldwide), the Irish Teeling bottled this single malt whisky in their Single Cask series that matured in a cask that previously housed award-winning calvados. Bottled at cask strength (60.7%).
They also make single grain whisky in Ireland. The Teeling Whiskey Company already has about twenty single grain bottlings to its name. It matured in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks and is bottled at 46%. Not chill-filtered or colored.
The Irish Teeling Whiskey Company is also not afraid to mature its single malt whisky in less common casks. Teeling used both red port and Carcevelos White port casks to for the maturation of this bottling. The 13-year-old whisky was bottled at 49.5%.
