The first batches of Tamdhu's Cigar Malt immediately scored very well. The name Cigar Malt refers to those 'old school' sherried single malt whiskies from the last century that were perfect to enjoy with an exclusive cigar. This is Batch 3. (53.8%)
An oldie, this Tamdhu single malt whisky. Not in terms of age, we don't know that, but in terms of bottling year (2005). This Tamdhu was once the cheapest entry-single malt on the market. Now no longer the cheapest, but still a good entry-level dram. 40%
Established in the last century as a supplier to the blended whisky industry, Speyside distillery Tamnavulin has already released quite a few single malt whisky bottlings. In early 2020, Tamnavulin released another batch in their Sherry Cask Edition. 40%
The Tamnavulin distillery was established in 1966 to supply single malt whisky for blends such as Whyte & Mackay. Since 1988, Tamnavulin has also been releasing distillery bottlings. Like this one. A single malt finished in red wine casks. (40%, 1 Ltr)
'The Highlands meet Andalucia', that's how you could describe this bottling from James Eadie. It is an 11-year-old single malt whisky from the Teaninich Distillery in the northern Highlands that is finished in classic, European oak Malaga casks. (48.3%)
Gordon & MacPhail bottled this Teaninich single malt whisky for the Dutch market. The Highland malt matured for 12 years in a large sherry cask and is bottled at cask strength. Notable notes include ginger and cinnamon, orange, strawberry and cocoa. 57.9%
Teaninich has no real distillery bottlings and distils almost exclusively for the blending industry. So we have to look for independent bottlings like this one from James Eadie. The 15-year-old single malt whisky is finished in an Oloroso cask. (55.1%)
Especially for the Dutch market (but with us available worldwide), the Irish Teeling bottled this single malt whisky in their Single Cask series that matured in a cask that previously housed award-winning calvados. Bottled at cask strength (60.7%).
The young Irish Teeling Distillery likes to experiment, using whisky from other distilleries such as Cooley. This blended whisky finished in rum casks is a good example of this. Give the rum tones some time to develop in the glass.
We didn't have many bottlings of the traditionally distilled Templeton Rye Whiskey in the shop so far. And we probably even didn't have a rye whiskey finished in stout beer casks here before. This is one of those bottlings that makes one curious! (46%)
In December 2006, the first casks were filled with spirit from St George's Distillery in Roudham, England. The English Whisky Company was launched. One of their hundreds of bottlings is this Single Cask Release. Aged for 10 years in a bourbon cask (58,1%)
Smokey Virgin, that is The English Whisky Company calls this single malt whisky that came out in their Small Batch Release series. And that is not for nothing. The whisky matured for 6 years in new (virgin) oak casks treated with peat smoke. (46%)
About 10 years ago, Isle of Harris Distillers opened its doors on the Scottish island of the same name. Under the brand The Hearach, they now have released about 25 bottlings, including this one. The single malt whisky aged in a 1st-fill Oloroso cask. 46%

Each step in the whisky-making process of England's The Lakes Distillery is supervised by whisky maker Dhavall Gandhi. For this bottling, Gandhi carefully selected Oloroso, PX, and red wine casks in which the single malt whisky matured. Bottled at 52.0%.
At the English The Lakes Distillery, whisky maker Dhavall Ghandhi guides every step of the making process seen from a holistic perspective. For this Volar bottling from The Whiskymaker's Editions, the single malt whisky aged in wine and sherry casks. 52%
The Diageo Special Release 2024 also includes this bottling from the Glen Ord distillery (known in Asia as The Singleton of Glen Ord). The 14-year-old single malt whisky matured in bourbon casks and is partly finished in select European oak casks. (54.7%)
The Glen Ord Distillery is producing single malt whisky since 1838. Today it is best known for its reasonably priced standard bottlings. But this Special Release is something different: 15 years old, matured in bourbon and wine casks and bottled at 54.2%.
A South African single malt whisky, we don't have that often in the shop! The Three Ships whisky comes from the James Sedgewick Distillery. And this 12 year old edition is the first bottling in the Master Distiller's Private Collection series. At 46.3%.
