A blend of the Highland single malts Glengoyne, Blair Athol, and Glen Garioch, that is Douglas Laing’s Timorous Beastie. Released in 2019, this 18-year-old edition is characterised by complex fruity, sweet, and malty notes. (46.8% ABV)
A blend of Highland single malts, that is Douglas Laing’s Timorous Beastie. This 18-year-old edition, matured in sherry casks, was released in 2020. Nicely balanced, not very complex, and pleasant to drink. Bottled for the Asian market. (45.3% ABV)
In 2023, Murray McDavid released this Croftengea Double Finish in the Cask Craft series. The peated single malt whisky from the Loch Lomond Distillery is finished in both Port and Madeira casks (double-finished). 'Smoky & Fruity,' says the label. 44.5%
'The art of maturation', it says on the label, and indeed, Murray McDavid has specialised in, among other things, finishing whisky. We see this in this Auchroisk single malt bottling, which has been finished in Koval bourbon quarter casks. (44.5%)
This Rockside is a new core bottling from Kilchoman. It is a single-farm whisky from Islay. The production of this 11-year-old single malt takes place from barley harvest to bottling at the Rockside Farm where Kilchoman is based. (46%)
