All of the Springbank single malt whiskies bottled by Archives got high scores. This is also the case for this 2016 bottling of a Springbank that matured for 19 years in a bourbon hogshead. 284 bottles came from that cask, at 56.4% cask strength.
The label features the Edradour logo, with the indication above that this is a bottling from Signatory Vintage's Un-Chillfiltered Collection. Either way, this is a perfectly sherried, very drinkable 10-year-old Edradour single malt whisky. (46%)

That the Glen Keith Distillery produces real fruity Speyside single malt whisky is proven once again by this Archives bottling. The malt matured for 22 years in a bourbon cask and is bottled at 56.0% cask strength. An explosion of all kinds of fruit!
This is a bottle from one of the few 14-year-old bottlings that the Arran Distillery has released so far. This one is from 2010. Fresh and complex is this single malt whisky, which was matured in bourbon casks. Oranges, liquorice, and white chocolate. (46
The first edition of the peated version of the Isle of Arran Distillery's single malt whisky: Machrie Moor. This whisky, bottled at 46% ABV, is not overly heavily peated. It matured for around 10 years in Amontillado sherry casks. Pleasantly drinkable.
The Arran distillery started in 1995. In early 1998, the spirit for this Arran single malt whisky went into the sherry cask. In 2007, 9 years later, it was bottled at cask strength (57.1%). So we are really talking about an early Arran. Interesting!
For the Dutch The Specialists' Choice, The Whisky Agency bottled this Bunnahabhain single malt whisky in 2011. The 'Bunna' matured for 10 years in a sherry cask. It is a pleasantly drinkable, pleasantly sherried dram. (Bottled at 46% in 414 bottles)
In 2014, Glenfarclas Distillery bottled 536 bottles of their single malt whisky, matured for 14 years in 2 refill sherry casks, for a German whisky club. It is a typical, sherried Glenfarclas at a hefty cask strength of 59.9%, but very pleasant to drink.
Cragganmore is the Speyside representative in Diageo's Classic Malts of Scotland. Independent bottlings of the single malt whisky are also released, including this 27-year-old, sherry cask-matured edition from Archives from 2016. (only 70 bottles, 48.7%)
This is a bottling in The Signature Series of Arran. The distillery releases special bottlings in this series, such as this 3rd edition: the 12-year-old single malt whisky matured in bourbon and 1st-fill Spanish red wine (Duero) casks. (Bottled at 50%)
In the line of quality bottlings, the Cask Strength Collection from Signatory Vintage cannot be missing. This Caol Ila edition underlines why. The medium-peated Islay single malt whisky matured for 17 years in a first-fill Oloroso cask. (57.7%)
The Redbreast 18-year-old is a new core bottling from this brand. The single pot-still whisky matured in a unique combination of casks: bourbon, Ruby Port, Oloroso and Cream Sherry. This resulted in a creamy, fruity and spicy, very drinkable dram. (46%)
Some of the single malt whisky in this Dornoch Edition of Glenmorangie is finished in Amontillado casks. This gives the dram, alongside the signature citrus and floral notes, rich, nutty notes and even a hint of sweet smoke. (Bottled at 43%)
If you love fruit, this new Archives bottling is definitely for you! The Glen Elgin single malt whisky offers you a bowl full of fruit, delicately sprinkled with spices. The Speysider matured for 14 years in a 1st-fill bourbon cask. Bottled at 56.1%.
This Hemel & Hellevuur (Heaven & Hellfire) Dutch single malt whisky is bottled by 3006 Whisky. The whisky from the young Brabant distillery Bossche Stokers matured for 5 years in an Oloroso octave cask, and is bottled at a cask strength of 54.7%.
This is the third batch of the Hemel & Hellevuur Dutch Single Malt Whisky from the young Dutch craft distillery Bossche Stokers. It is distilled from multiple types of malt and matured in three different sherry casks: PX, Palo Cortado and Amontillado. 48%
Over the years, Ardbeg has released several experimental bottlings. In 2014, there was, among others, this extra special Auriverdes Gold, in a limited edition of only 300 bottles. The peated single malt whisky matured in toasted American oak. (49.9% ABV)
This Chieftain's edition, a bottling of the lightly peated Highland whisky Ardmore, was released in 2012. The single malt matured for a total of 10 years, with the final period spent in a Manzanilla cask. It was bottled at a cask strength of 55.9% ABV.
Early this century, Douglas Laing bottled this Glenrothes single malt whisky in the Old Malt Cask series. The malt went into the cask in 1983 and after 18 years, it was bottled at 50% in 288 bottles. Of those, this is probably the only one still available
Already in 2009, the bottlings in the Old Malt Cask series from Douglas Laing were well received: see this Ardbeg edition. The peated Islay single malt whisky was matured for 18 years in a bourbon cask, yielding notes of vanilla, almonds, and honey. 50%
Smokehead is a single malt whisky brand from bottler Ian Macleod. As with the previous Smokehead bottlings, this is an anonymous peated Islay whisky. Often the age of these bottlings is unknown, but this is a malt that matured for 15 years. (43% ABV)
