In 2020, production began at Bonnington, Edinburgh's first single malt distillery in a century. Bonnington has both pot and column stills, allowing it to also produce other whiskies than malts. But this is single malt, finished in Muscat casks. (47% ABV)
This isn't a blended Scotch whisky from Turntable, but a blend, as it features Irish Dingle pot-still whiskey, the result of a collaboration with that distillery. Besides that whiskey, it also contains Balmenach, Blair Athol, and Loch Lomond malts. (52%)
Unlike most other blended Scotch whiskies, Turntable's does list which whiskies are in it and at what percentage. This is also the case with this superb Born to be Wild-edition. The blend matured in sherry and two kinds of bourbon casks. (53% ABV)
26% sherried Tamdhu, 21% bourbon-matured Dalmunach, 18% bourbon-matured Mannochmore, and 35% Girvan, 22% of which is matured in bourbon and 13% in Marsala casks—this is Turntable's recipe for this Harder, Better, Stronger, Faster blended Scotch. (59.1%)
In 2023, blending house Turntable released this beautifully composed and subtly peated blend of carefully selected whiskies under the name Smokin' Riff. It includes Caol Ila, Knockdhu, and Craigellachie single malts and North British grain whisky. (46%)
Glencadam was founded two centuries ago in the East Highlands, but until the early 2000s, there wasn't a single distillery bottling. Now, however, there are several, such as this 15-year-old, bourbon-matured single malt. Now with a new label. (46% ABV)
With this Symington's, Signatory Vintage has launched a line of blended Scotch whisky with a guaranteed minimum age of 10 years. For a very reasonable price, you get a mature blend matured in bourbon and sherry casks. (46%)
In 2013, the Wolfburn Distillery opened, and in 2025, it released its first 12-year-old single malt, matured in carefully selected bourbon and oloroso casks, with a complex and elegant palate. This is an affordable 35cl bottle of this whisky. (46%)
In 2019, four blended whisky bottlings were released in The Perspective Series / No. 1 from Berry Bros & Rudd, a series featuring artistic photographs on the labels. This is a 25-year-old blended whisky with a full, fresh flavour and ripe fruit notes. 43%
At the young Torabhaig Distillery on the Isle of Skye, they handle everything in-house, from mashing to bottling. This is how they bottled this Taigh, a single malt in the 'house style' (stoidhle taighe). It matured in bourbon and Madeira casks. (46% ABV)
In the Decanter Collection, named after the type of bottle the whisky is bottled in, Signatory Vintage released this Staoisha single malt in 2024. The heavily peated whisky from the Bunnahabhain distillery matured in first-fill Oloroso casks. (46% ABV)
A whisky like this Currach Atlantic Wakame had never been seen before when it was released in 2021: it's an Irish single malt whisky finished in seaweed-charred casks! And that's a rare, sustainable seaweed. At cask strength (57.2% ABV).
A true classic in the world of sherried single malt whisky, Aberlour A'bunadh. This is from batch 71 from 2021, matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at a cask strength of 61.5% ABV. A lovely, warming whisky for cold winter days.

This Caol Ila was bottled in 2017 by The Creative Whisky Company. The classic Islay single malt whisky matured for 11 years in a bourbon cask. Creamy, sweet smokiness, and maritime elements like seaweed and shellfish; all this and more! (52.2% ABV))
With notes of dried fruit, cocoa, dark chocolate, ginger, cinnamon, raisins, coffee, oranges, and even more chocolate, this is a true, sherried Glenfarclas. And it's at a hefty cask strength (59.4%). The single malt whisky was released in 2017.
We've had a Cawdor Spring single malt in the store before, and then we also concluded that there's no distillery of that name. It's probably Royal Brackla. This Fragrant Drops edition matured for 10 years in a fresh Margaux wine barrique. (56.6% ABV)
This Glenrothes, one of the more famous Speyside single malts, matured for 24 years, according to the label in a bourbon cask, before being bottled by Fragrant Drops in 2025. Rumour has it that it actually matured in a sherry cask. Can you taste it? (48%)
Artful labels and beautiful bottles characterise the Fragrant Drops bottlings, but it's really all about the whiskies inside. And that's certainly true, as with this 19-year-old, bourbon-matured Aultmore single malt, bottled at 55.2% ABV.
Speyside distillery Knockdhu (founded in 1893) releases single malt whisky under the name AnCnoc. This 16-year-old malt, matured in ex-bourbon casks, was released as part of the Rich & Sweet series. Indeed, a rich dram with sweet flavours. (46% ABV)
And yet another strongly sherried Edradour single malt whisky from bottler Van Wees. And again in their Cask Strength series. This malt from the Southern Highlands aged for 9 years in an active sherry cask and is bottled at 58.9%.
This Caol Ila single malt whisky bottled by Van Wees is 9 years old. The medium-peated Islay malt matured in four bourbon casks. The Ultimate label is known for its reasonable prices, and that is also reflected in this release. (bottled at 46%)
'15 glorious years old' is what the label of this Mortlach bottling from Douglas Laing proclaims. It's an edition in the Glasgow-based bottler's Old Particular series. The Speyside single malt whisky matured in a refill bourbon cask. Bottled at 48.4% ABV.
This The Classic Laddie, a single malt whisky bottling from the unique Islay distillery Bruichladdich, is the first in this series with an age statement: 10 years. The spirit is distilled from Scottish barley, and the whisky is bottled at 50% ABV.
