Dating back to the early 19th century, the Balmenach distillery released only a handful of bottlings. Therefore, you'll mainly find their single malt whisky as independent bottlings, like this 9-year-old, sherry-matured one from Signatory Vintage. (57.1%)
With its 100 Proof series, bottler Signatory Vintage proves that good whisky doesn't have to be expensive. The series includes, for example, this 14-year-old Miltonduff single malt, matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 57.1% ABV (100 proof).
This Benrinnes bottling is the 56th release in Signatory Vintage's very affordable 100 Proof series. The Speyside single malt matured for 13 years in first-fill and refill oloroso sherry casks and was bottled at the for this series usual 57.1% ABV.
This 12-year-old Highland single malt whisky, with its fruit and chocolate aromas, has that typical 'sherry' character that Aberlour is known for. The finish of this core bottling of the Aberlour Distillery is sweet and spicy. Bottled at 48%.

This is Special Release #31 of Millstone Dutch single malt whisky from the Zuidam Distillery. And this bottling is certainly 'special', because the heavily peated whisky matured for 5 years in very rare, classic Palo Cortado sherry casks. (46%)
Longrow is the name under which the Springbank Distillery releases a peated malt. Smoke, peat, and malt are clearly present, and also salt, citrus and, for example, grass. And there is the influence of the bourbon casks on which this malt matured. (46%)
Campbeltown distillery Glengyle released the 12th batch in the Heavily Peated-Small Batch series of their Kilkerran single malt whisky. The peated dram matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. The hefty 58.4% alcohol is nicely integrated.
For an excellent price, you can get all five Campbeltown single malt whiskies together in one bottle: Springbank, Hazelburn, Longrow, Glen Scotia and Kilkerran! The blend matured in bourbon and sherry casks, resulting in a mild, creamy and rich dram. 46%
Archives is the brand under which Whiskybase has been releasing bottlings since 2011. This is done in various series. This Strathclyde single grain was released in 2023 in the series Fishes of Samoa, intended for online sales. (30y, bourbon cask, 48.0%)
In 2011, Whiskybase.com launched the bottling brand Archives. To date, Archives has released over 230 bottlings that have scored high on average, with 87.5 points. In 2016, this 43-year-old Invergordon single grain whisky came out. (49.9%, 88.7 points)
After 15 years in a bourbon cask, this Blair Athol single malt whisky was bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2003. It was not until 2020 that the bottling was registered in the Whiskybase, until now without ratings. Are you the first to review it? (43%)
With only three men staff, Edradour is one of the smallest Scottish distilleries. This 10-year-old Distillery Edition, with notes of honey, heather, and citrus, is a fine example of their single malt. Previous editions were bottled at 40%, this one at 43%

That Orkney 18 (HP) stands for an 18-year-old Highland Park will come as no surprise, and that this bottling from Signatory Vintage has a nice score is certainly no surprise either. The HP single malt whisky matured in a 1st-fill Oloroso cask. (55.0%)
A 12-year-old Glen Ord single malt whisky at a strength of 57.1% for this price? You can't pass it up! The Highlander matured in a 1st-fill bourbon cask from which it was bottled by Signatory Vintage as the 46th edition in their 100 Proof series.
All of the Springbank single malt whiskies bottled by Archives got high scores. This is also the case for this 2018 bottling of a Springbank that matured for 22 years in a bourbon hogshead. 277 bottles came from that cask, at 55.8% cask strength.

In 2006, Islay distillery Bowmore released this bottling in their Cask Strength series Vaults. The peated single malt whisky was bottled at 56.0% ABV. How long the whisky was matured and in which casks is unknown, but it tastes like a sherried dram.
