Cadenhead, Scotland's oldest independent bottler, presents a Burnside (a blend of The Balvenie single malt whisky and a teaspoon of Glenfiddich) that matured for a whopping 28 years in bourbon casks. Expect notes of tutti-frutti and toffee. (46% ABV)
When you talk about bourbon, the name Four Roses quickly comes to mind. And when you talk about quality bourbon, you might well be talking about bottles like this one: a rich blend of bourbon whiskeys aged at least 12 years, bottled at 54.55% ABV. Max 1p
This Sound of Sleat is the fourth chapter in the Legacy Series from the young Skye-based Torabhaig Distillery. This single malt whisky matured in first-fill and refill bourbon casks, as well as new American virgin oak casks. A smoky dram at 60.2% ABV!
Whisky company Seven Seals has several subsidiaries worldwide. Dunrobin Distilleries produced this rye whisky for its Canadian subsidiary. This Beaver's Dram is finished in port casks and bottled at 46% ABV. The rye is remarkably sweet.
This is the first 11-year-old edition of the Kilchoman 100% Islay single malt whisky. In this 100% Islay series, every step, from sowing the barley to bottling, was taken on the whisky island of Islay. The malt matured in sixteen select Oloroso casks. 50%

This Arran is distilled from barley grown on the island of the same name, where the distillery is located. The single malt whisky matured for 10 years in 1st & 2nd fill bourbon casks—hogsheads to be precise. The malt is bottled at 50.0% ABV.
Sherried, nutty, unpeated, says the label of this Bunnahabhain bottling. The single malt whisky was released as Small Batch Distilled, Cask Strength Edition 2025. The Bunna matured for 12 years in Oloroso sherry casks and was bottled at 56,4% ABV.

Rotterdam's Cley Distillery distils its whisky according to traditional Dutch traditions. This 5-year-old Dutch Single Malt Whisky Manzanilla is no exception. It matured for 3 years in 1st-fill bourbon casks and then in small Manzanilla sherry casks. 48%

Inchfad is the name of a peated single malt whisky from the Loch Lomond Distillery. Bottler North Star released this Inchfad in their Cask Series, matured for 18 years in a carefully selected Oloroso cask. A full-bodied, peaty and elegant dram. (51.1%)
This North Star Spirits bottling, a blended malt, takes you on a journey along Campbeltown distilleries like Springbank, Glen Scotia, and others. The Campbeltown Connection matured for 10 years in hogsheads and is bottled at 50.7% ABV.
Sometimes there are bottlings that are unjustly overlooked. This is one of them. This 12-year-old Macallan was bottled in 2010, but it didn't make it into the Whiskybase until 2022. This is your chance! (1000 ml, matured in select sherry casks, 40% ABV)
The Glasgow Distillery, founded in 2014, releases its whisky under the 1770 brand, but this is a Rolf Kaspar bottling in the Black Corbie series. The Lowland single malt whisky is 7 years old and matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry cask. (57.1% ABV)
In 2018, the General Gan bottling, part of the King of Qingshan series from the Mars Shinshu Distillery, was released in a very limited edition on the Taiwanese market. It's a blend of malt and grain whisky. You rarely see a bottle like this anymore! 40%

About twenty years ago, Miyagikyo distillery, which produces the least peated whisky of the Japanese Nikka group, released this 15-year-old, sherry-cask-matured single malt. A subtle, elegant, and complex dram. It is filled at 45% ABV.
In 2012, Yoichi, one of the first Japanese distilleries, released this 20-year-old single malt whisky, bottled for La Maison du Whisky. It matured in bourbon, sherry, and new oak casks, which certainly contributed to its refined complexity. (52.0% ABV)
This 10-year-old Miyagikyo single malt whisky was released in 2009, bottled for La Maison du Whisky. A fine example of Japanese whisky, with its floral and fruity notes, soft smoothness, and perfect balance. A very pleasantly drinkable dram! 45% ABV
This Dingle 10 Years Old is a standard bottling from Ireland's Dingle distillery. The single malt matured in a combination of three cask types: bourbon (65%), port (30%), and PX (5%). This resulted in a dram with a complex aroma and flavour palette. 46.5%
This is a 2022 James Eadie bottling of an 11-year-old Benrinnes single malt whisky, finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry cask. The malt has a rich, sherry-infused nose. The high cask strength of 59.9% invites you to experiment with a drop of water.
If you'd like to try a sherried Speysider, this Glentauchers single malt whisky, bottled by Van Wees, is definitely worth a try, and not just because of its nice price! The whisky matured for 11 years in a refill Oloroso sherry cask. (Attention: 66.5%!)
