Distillery Benromach usually releases unpeated single malt whisky, but sometimes a smoky variant appears, such as this Peat Smoke from 2007. It matured for 7 years in fresh bourbon casks, resulting in a nice combination of fruity and smoky notes. (46%)

Croftengea Bourbon Finish Murray McDavid

'Smoky & Fruity' is written on the label of this Croftengea bottling from Murray McDavid. The peated single malt whisky from the Loch Lomond Distillery matured in a high-quality ex-bourbon cask. A creamy malt with lots of fruit, vanilla and caramel. 44.5%

Benrinnes Madeira Finish Murray McDavid

This single malt whisky from Speyside distillery Benrinnes appeared in Murray McDavid's Cask Craft series. Anyone who knows the bottler a little will not be surprised that the whisky is finished in a select cask: a Justino's Madeira barrique. (44.5%)

Royal Brackla 2011 Double-V

The Belgian whisky friends club Double-V releases several times a year bottlings of whiskies that have matured in their private cellar. This is one of them: a 12-year-old Royal Brackla single malt whisky at 54.5% cask strength. For a great price!

Glenrothes 2013 Whisky AGE

This Glenrothes single malt whisky is quite strong, with its 61%, but undoubtedly well-balanced and pleasant to drink, knowing bottler Whisky AGE from Taiwan. The Speyside malt matured in an ex-bourbon cask, a hogshead, and was bottled in 272 bottles.

Mannochmore 2015 Whisky AGE

Whiskybase is the Dutch importer of bottlings of the Taiwanese Whisky AGE. We always look forward to their latest series of bottlings. The newest series includes this 8-year-old, bourbon-matured Mannochmore single malt whisky at 58.9% cask strength.

Old Pulteney 2007 Whisky AGE

The Pulteney Distillery in the Highlands releases many bottlings of their Old Pulteney single malt whisky; you don't see independent bottlings very often. But this is one: a 16-year-old malt matured in a bourbon barrel, bottled at 55.3% cask strength.

Bunnahabhain 2009 Staoisha Whisky AGE

At 15 years old, this Staoisha is the oldest we had in the store so far. The peated single malt whisky from the Bunnahabhain Distillery matured all those years in a re-charred bourbon cask before being bottled by Whisky AGE at 53.0% cask strength.

Bunnahabhain 2013 Staoisha Whiskybroker

The Staoisha brand of the peated version of Bunnahabhain's single malt whisky is now an established name. Whiskybrokerreleased this 10-year-old bottling of this Islay malt that matured successively in two bourbon casks. Bottled at 52.0% cask strength.

Blair Athol 2011 Whiskybroker

Blair Athol is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, at around 230 years old. Of those 230 years, this Creetown Distillers edition matured 12 in a refill bourbon cask. The Highland single malt whisky is bottled in 309 bottles at 52.0% cask strength.

Craigellachie 2013 Whiskybroker

You can get this 10-year-old Craigellachie single malt whisky for a very reasonable price. The Speysider matured in a bourbon cask and was bottled at cask strength (52.1%) by Whiskybroker in 2023 and released in their Creetown Distillers series.

Highland Park 1990- Single Sherry Cask 5831

This is an old-fashioned sherried Highland Park single malt whisky that you won't find nowadays! This bottling of a 16-year-old Orkney malt, intended for the Dutch market, dates from 2006. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.7%. (350ml bottle)

Royal Brackla 2014 Elixir Distillers

The Brackla distillery has been around for over two centuries and has been known as 'royal' for almost two centuries. Elixir Distillers bottled this 9-year-old, bourbon-matured Brackla single malt whisky in the Single Malts of Scotland series. (46%)

Kilkerran 05-year-old Heavily Peated

This 5-year-old Kilkerran, matured in Oloroso sherry casks, was one of the whiskies featured in the Online Tasting Week organized by Glengyle Distillery in 2021. A sturdy single malt-whisky for its age, well-peated and full of flavour. (58.2% ABV)

Elijah Craig Straight Rye

The Elijah Craig brand is known for its bourbons, but here is their first Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, distilled from spicy rye and corn. A soft, smooth whisky with notes such as dark chocolate, honey, baking spices and oak, with a hint of smoke. (47%)

Glen Spey 2011 Ultimate - Cask 802433

Despite the name, Glen Spey is not a well-known Speyside distillery. The special thing about Glen Spey are the purifiers on the stills that produce a light, delicate single malt whisky. 8 years old and matured in a re-charred bourbon cask. (58.4%)

Glen Garioch 2011 Ultimate - Casks 4617+4621

Glen Garioch is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, located in Aberdeenshire. The single malt whisky has a fruity character. You will recognize that in this The Ultimate bottling. The Highlander matured for 11 years in two bourbon casks. (59.2%)

Glen Elgin 2009 Ultimate - Cask 806376

Glen Elgin is one of those Speyside distilleries where most of the single malt whisky is destined to disappear into blends. If you want to taste this malt neat, then this 13-year-old edition, matured in a bourbon cask, is definitely an option! (58.5%)

Ballechin 2011 Ultimate - Cask 273

In 2003 Edradour released under the name Ballechin their first whisky distilled from peated barley malt. A smoky single malt whisky. For the series The Ultimate Van Wees bottled this 10-year-old Ballechin. It matured in a large sherry cask. Bottled at 46%

Lochside 1991 The Daily Dram

The Lochside Distillery closed in 1992 after only about 35 years in operation, but in that short time, their single malt whisky had built up a very good name. This bottling (17 years, 46%) from 2008 can now be called a collector's item, so, be quick!

Craigellachie 2007 Thompson Brothers

The label shows a bottle with the inscription: 'Same But Different Beard Oil'. Yet we are talking about a 15-year-old Craigellachie single malt whisky, bottled by Thompson Bros, fruity, with banana and notes of malt, grist and charred oak. (51.6%)

Royal Brackla 2011 Thompson Brothers

This Royal Brackla, bottled by Thompson Bros aged for 13 years in a bourbon cask. From that cask came a complex, pleasantly drinkable single malt whisky with fruity notes like lemon, green apple, and kiwi and notes like pine needles and cereal bars. 48.5%

Glenlossie 1982 Gordon & MacPhail

You don't come across Glenlossie single malt whisky very often, especially not a 40-year-old Glenlossie! What makes this bottling from Gordon & MacPhail even more special is the high cask strength of 60.2% after four decades in a bourbon cask.

NcNoch 5-year-old Thompson Brothers

Unique! This is a blend of organic single malt whiskies from the Thompson Brothers' Dornoch Distillery, which opened in 2017, and Annabel Thomas' Nc'nean Distillery, also from 2017. The whiskies matured for 5 years before being bottled in 2023. (48.5%)
