Single malt whisky is a mixture of malt whisky from casks of the same distillery. Malt whisky is made from barley malt and distilled in pot stills, and has matured for at least 3 years in oak barrels. This whisky usually has a for the distillery characteristic flavor. Is considered the classic whisky.
Campbeltown Distillery Glengyle presented with this Peat in Progress bottling its first peated Kilkerran single malt whisky. The youthful dram matured for 55% in bourbon casks and for 45% in sherry casks. The sturdy 59.3% alcohol is nicely integrated.

With this 12-year-old single malt and for this price, Speyside distillery Knockandopresents a good entry-level whiskey. With the floral and fruity notes of the region and notes of vanilla, raisins and nuts, this is, at 43%, a pleasantly drinkable dram.
From the Richly Matured series, this 15-year-old Knockando aged in bourbon and sherry casks. A fairly complex malt with, besides the floral and fruity Speyside notes, sherry influences such as cinnamon, chocolate and apple sauce. Bottled at 43%.
Very reasonably priced for an 18 year old single malt whisky, this Knockando 18 in the Slow Matured series. This full-bodied and fruity Speysider matured in both bourbon casks and European oak sherry casks. Complex, balanced and pleasant to drink. At 43%.
Speysider Knockando's single malt whisky isn't often seen as an independent bottling, but here is another one again, released in Signatory Vintage's popular Cask Strength Collection. A 16-year-old, PX-finished, complex and full-bodied dram. (51.6%)
You don't often come across the single malt whisky from the Speyside distillery Knockdhu as an independent bottling. But here's one from bottler Chapter 7. The malt is 16 years old and it matured in a bourbon cask that produced 334 bottles at 51.5%.
This Knockdhu single malt whisky (also known as anCnoc) matured for 16 years in a second-fill Oloroso cask before being bottled by Signatory Vintage at 56.9% ABV. It's not a sherry bomb, but rather a subtly sherried, well-balanced dram.
We've picked up some great Lagavulins: Special Release bottlings from the first decade of this century. These are 12 year old Lagavulin single malt whiskies bottled at cask strength. So this bottle is from 2008 and at 56.4% strength.
This is the twelfth of the Diageo Special Releases of 12 year old Lagavulin single malt whisky, released in 2012. Lagavulin gets good marks for its peated whisky and so does this bottling. matured in bourbon casks, bottled at 56.1% cask strength.

The second Lagavulin bottling in Speciality Drinks’ Elements of Islay series was released in 2010. The single malt whisky matured in bourbon and sherry casks and is bottled at 58.0% cask strength. It received a score of 87 points on Whiskybase so far.
The ninth Lagavulin bottling in Elixir Distillers’ Elements of Islay series was released in 2018. The single malt whisky was matured in 2 ex-Laphroaig casks and bottled at 57.6% cask strength. It has received a score of 88 points on Whiskybase so far.
Lagavulin, one of the highest rated distilleries on whiskybase.com, releases their The Distillers Edition bottling each year. And as always the single malt bottling is double matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks made of new American oak. (43%)
It was coming, and here it is: the 1st batch of single malt whisky from the 2nd distillery on the Isle of Arran! Unlike the whisky from that other distillery, this one is heavily peated. A young dram of course that matured in bourbon casks. Bottled at 50%
This is the third batch in the Inaugural Release series from the fledgling Lagg Distillery on Arran. Firmly peated, as all Lagg bottlings will be, and finished in Rioja casks. A full, uncomplicated and promising young single malt whisky. Bottled at 50%.
In 2022, the first bottling of Lagg single malt whisky was released. Unlike the older Arran Distillery, the young distillery on Arran makes a peated malt, according to an old Arran recipe. This 3-year-old Kilmory Edition matured in bourbon casks. (46%)
Lagmore is the name bottler Living Souls gives to this blended malt whisky, which is essentially a Ballindalloch single malt whisky with a teaspoon of another single malt mixed in. This 10-year-old Speyside malt matured in first-fill bourbon casks. (48%)
