Single malt whisky is a mixture of malt whisky from casks of the same distillery. Malt whisky is made from barley malt and distilled in pot stills, and has matured for at least 3 years in oak barrels. This whisky usually has a for the distillery characteristic flavor. Is considered the classic whisky.
The ninth Lagavulin bottling in Elixir Distillers’ Elements of Islay series was released in 2018. The single malt whisky was matured in 2 ex-Laphroaig casks and bottled at 57.6% cask strength. It has received a score of 88 points on Whiskybase so far.

In 2022, the first bottling of Lagg single malt whisky was released. Unlike the older Arran Distillery, the young distillery on Arran makes a peated malt, according to an old Arran recipe. This 3-year-old Kilmory Edition matured in bourbon casks. (46%)
This is already the 17th edition of the popular Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength. The heavily peated Islay single malt whisky was bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 58.3% after maturing in ex-bourbon casks. A true Laphroaig, with medicinal and iodine notes.
The standard Laphroaig 10 has long been one of the icons of the peated single malt whisky from the Scottish island of Islay. Until recently, the bottle always came in a tube, but since 2023 it comes in a box. The label also has a new design. (40%)

This bottling from 2015 celebrates the 200th anniversary of Islay distillery Laphroaig. The single malt whisky is 15 years old and shows all those characteristics that make Laphroaig whisky so loved: the mild smokiness, the medicinal and maritime notes.
In 2012, this special Laphroaig single malt whisky appeared in an edition of 3000 bottles at the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth. The 18 year old peated Islay malt is creamy and has a complex palette of flavors that are nicely balanced. (48%)
A true Laphroaig, this 12-year-old single malt. Medicinal notes juxtapose sweet, salty, and tarry notes with ash and smoked barley. This Islay malt was bottled by Douglas Laing in 2025 at 48.4% ABV after having matured in a refill bourbon cask.
This is the 2021 edition of a 25 year old Laphroaig single malt whisky at cask strength. These bottlings of the firmly peated Islay malt always score very well. Due to their age, the smoky character is somewhat milder. Matured in bourbon casks and at 51.9
A fantastic Islay classic, that's what you can call this Laphroaig! Distilled in the early 80s and then matured for 32 years in 'old-fashioned' sherry casks. The perfectly sherried single malt whisky has, due to its age, a milder smokiness. (46.6%)
For the Friends of Laphroaig, Islay distillery Laphroaig bottled this Càirdeas edition (Càirdeas stands for 'friendship') in 2018. The peated single malt whisky matured in 1st fill bourbon casks and finished in fino sherry casks. Bottled at 51.8%.
Laphroaig regularly releases Cairdeas (Friendship) bottlings, usually to coincide with Islay's annual Feis Isle festival. This is also the case with this bottling from 2020. The peated single malt whisky matured in bourbon, port and wine casks. (52%)

We do not know how old this Laphroaig Lore single malt whisky is. According to the distillery, the oldest whisky in this release is from 1993. The mixing of different casks here at least produces a real Laphroaig with its own character!
The second Laphroaig bottling in Speciality Drinks’ Elements of Islay series was released in 2011. The single malt whisky was matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 64.1% (!) cask strength. It received a score of almost 86 points on Whiskybase so far.
The third Laphroaig bottling in Speciality Drinks’ Elements of Islay series was released in 2011. The single malt whisky matured in traditional hogsheads and is bottled at 58.7% cask strength. It received a score of over 87 points on Whiskybase.
The eighth Laphroaig bottling in the Elements of Islay series was released in 2017. The 19-year-old single malt whisky matured in ex-Madeira wine casks and is bottled at 53.5% cask strength. It received a score of almost 89 points on Whiskybase so far.
The smaller the casks, the greater the influence of the wood. That is certainly the case with this Laphroaig which has been finished on small quarter casks. This yields a nice, full and complex dram, with the famous 'smoke and peat' from Laphroaig.
The Laphroaig Select is a lighter, softer single malt whisky than other Laphroaigs. By finishing on American new oak, there is a bit more sweetness and vanilla than, for example, in the Laphroaig 10. The Select is therefore a great entry-level Laphroaig!
