Single malt whisky is a mixture of malt whisky from casks of the same distillery. Malt whisky is made from barley malt and distilled in pot stills, and has matured for at least 3 years in oak barrels. This whisky usually has a for the distillery characteristic flavor. Is considered the classic whisky.

The Springbank Distillery still produces whisky from barley to bottling, which is why the single malt whisky is appreciated by many. In 2016, Springbank released this 21-year-old, very high-scoring, sherried single-cask bottling. It is bottled at 47.5%.

In 2008, bottler Blackadder released in its Raw Cask series this 25-year-old St. Magdalene. The single malt whisky from the Lowland distillery, which closed in 1983, had matured for 25 years in a bourbon cask and was bottled at a cask strength of 61.8%!

For about 40 years, until 1928, there was a Stronachie Distillery. A.D. Rattray wanted to recreate the taste of the single malt whisky based on a bottle from 1904. This new Stronachie, of which this bottle is one, was distilled by Benrinnes. (12y, 43%)

Specially for sale at airports, this Dark Storm is from the Talisker distillery on the Scottish island of Skye. A standard bottling in a liter bottle. For a long time Talisker was the only distillery on the island, recently there is a second one. Hence.
With the Port Ruighe bottlings, Talisker releases a single malt whisky matured on Ruby port casks. This probably young dram is sweet and uncomplicated, with clear port influences, peat and salty notes in the background. A pleasantly drinkable dram.
Smoke and the sea, those are the first words that come to mind with this Talisker Storm single malt whisky. In addition to yellow and red fruit, salty notes, seaweed, bacon, smoked fish play a key role. That produces an interesting dram!
