Single malt whisky is a mixture of malt whisky from casks of the same distillery. Malt whisky is made from barley malt and distilled in pot stills, and has matured for at least 3 years in oak barrels. This whisky usually has a for the distillery characteristic flavor. Lowland distillery Bladnoch bottled this Select Cask edition especially for the Dutch liquor company Van Wees. The single malt whisky is 12 years old and matured in a bourbon cask in which previously a peated whisky aged. That yielded 235 bottles at 57%.

Blair Athol is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. In 2003, a 27-year-old bottling of the single malt whisky appeared in the Rare Malts Selection series. Creamy, dark fruit, marzipan, oak, flowers, and chocolate are just some of the keywords.
This 12-year-old Blair Athol bottling from Murray McDavid has been released in a limited edition in 2021. This bottler specializes in matching single malt whisky and the casks in which it is matured and finished (here: finished in oloroso casks). (46%)
Finally another bottling of the Japanese Acorn in the house! In the Musicienne series, the bottler released this Blair Athol single malt whisky. The distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland. This 12-year-old edition matured in a bourbon cask. (56.5%)
Bottler Chapter 7 started in Switzerland but moved to Scotland to better search for exceptional whiskies. The bottler found this 10-year-old Blair Athol single malt whisky that had matured on a bourbon hogshead, for example, and bottled it at 50.5%.
