With 12 years of aging in bourbon barrels, including finishing on oloroso-sherry casks and a strength of 40%, you could call this Isle of Jura single malt whisky for this price a good entry-level dram. Easy to drink, more modest than in your face.
The Isle of Jura Distillery is located on the Scottish island of Jura. It has a series of core bottlings and also regularly releases special bottlings. However, this bottling of a 29-year-old bourbon-aged single malt whisky is by Signatory Vintage. 52.4%
This is an extra striking edition in the already special Boutique Barrels bottling series of the Jura distillery: while Jura's single malt whisky is unpeated as standard, the bourbon-aged whisky in this bottling is peated (for the insider: 30ppm)! (55%)
In their Cask Strength Collection, Signatory Vintage presents a 16-year-old Isle of Jura. This single malt whisky is finished in a first-fill Oloroso cask. It's a rich, sweet malt with maritime notes, dried fruit, berry jam, and toffee. (54.4%)
If Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey had not been produced in Tennessee, but elsewhere in America, 'bourbon whiskey' would have been on the label. Anyway, are you looking for a whiskey to mix with, then Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 is a great option!
This is not one of those standard Jack Daniel's bottlings that you thoughtlessly throw in some ice cubes. This is a single cask bottling from this well-known Tennessee whiskey brand, and then also at cask strength (64.5%). In a classic-looking bottle.
Jack Daniel's of course is known worldwide as the Tennessee variety of bourbon whiskey. It is much less known that also rye whiskey is released under the Jack Daniel's brand. We have one here, bottled in 2018 for the German market. Try one? (45%)
Something different from the well-known Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey. This is a blend of American malt, rye whiskey, and that bourbon-like Tennessee whiskey. The blend matured for 4 years in charred American oak barrels in a certified warehouse. (50%)
The Triple Distilled Irish whiskey. This Jameson is perfect in Irish coffee, for mixing, or in cocktails. With Ginger Ale for example. Buy it online in our shop.
We don't know exactly how much longer this Jim Beam Kentucky straight bourbon matured than normal, but it does have an extra intense taste. A very pleasant drinkable bourbon whiskey. This Jim Beam Black is also extra attractive because of the nice price!
Daddy Rack in Tennessee distils a whisky related to bourbon. But Daddy now has a son, Jimmy Rack, and that is a Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey. Distilled from 95% rye and 5% barley malt, aged in charred oak casks and maple charcoal filtered. (3y, 61.15%)
In 2005, Johnnie Walker introduced its Green Label, a blended malt whisky (so only single malt whiskies, no grain). Producer Diageo stopped producing this Green Label after a few years, but it is now re-released worldwide due to popular demand.
With this malt, matured in 8 different casks, the Taiwanese distillery Kavalan presents the total range of flavors that they produce. That is why this special whisky does not have a character of its own, but it is more than worthy of further investigation
This single malt whisky was specially selected for the Dutch market by the Kavalan Distillery. The whisky matured for 8 (long, because Taiwanese) years in a bourbon cask and was bottled at cask strength (51.6%). Tropical fruit, honey, vanilla and coconut.
Taiwan's Yuan Shan Distillery makes single malt whisky under the Kavalan brand. Especially known are the Soloist single-cask bottlings of which several thousand are already released. This Soloist aged in an Oloroso sherry cask. (54.8% ABV)
The single-cask bottlings in the Solist series from the Taiwanese Kavalan often score very high. Fortunately, new Soloists appear very regularly. Like this single malt whisky that matured in a wine cask and has notes like cocoa and tropical fruit. (54.8%)
This is already the 15th edition of the Kilchoman 100% Islay single malt whisky. In this 100% Islay series, all the steps, from sowing barley to bottling, have been taken on Islay. This edition matured for 9 years in ex-bourbon casks. (50%)

Farm distillery Kilchoman on Islay bottled this Coull Point edition of its peated single malt whisky in 2024. The malt matured in bourbon casks and is finished in Oloroso sherry casks. Stewed fruit, powerful peat smoke notes, sweet notes and vanilla. 46%
The fact that single malt whisky often matures in sherry casks is nothing special, but maturation in fino sherry casks is. Fino is a dry sherry that matured under a layer of yeast, the 'flor'. That gives an extra taste experience to this Kilchoman. (50%)
This seventh edition of the Loch Gorm single malt whisky from Islay distillery Kilchoman matured in oloroso-sherry casks. For lovers of sherryed whisky and Islay smokiness, this is a bottling that you really can't ignore. At 46%.
