Dating back to the early 19th century, the Balmenach distillery released only a handful of bottlings. Therefore, you'll mainly find their single malt whisky as independent bottlings, like this 9-year-old, sherry-matured one from Signatory Vintage. (57.1%)
With its 100 Proof series, bottler Signatory Vintage proves that good whisky doesn't have to be expensive. The series includes, for example, this 14-year-old Miltonduff single malt, matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 57.1% ABV (100 proof).
This Benrinnes bottling is the 56th release in Signatory Vintage's very affordable 100 Proof series. The Speyside single malt matured for 13 years in first-fill and refill oloroso sherry casks and was bottled at the for this series usual 57.1% ABV.
This 12-year-old Highland single malt whisky, with its fruit and chocolate aromas, has that typical 'sherry' character that Aberlour is known for. The finish of this core bottling of the Aberlour Distillery is sweet and spicy. Bottled at 48%.
In 2011, Whiskybase.com launched the bottling brand Archives. To date, Archives has released over 230 bottlings that have scored high on average, with 87.5 points. In 2016, this 43-year-old Invergordon single grain whisky came out. (49.9%, 88.7 points)
That Orkney 18 (HP) stands for an 18-year-old Highland Park will come as no surprise, and that this bottling from Signatory Vintage has a nice score is certainly no surprise either. The HP single malt whisky matured in a 1st-fill Oloroso cask. (55.0%)
All of the Springbank single malt whiskies bottled by Archives got high scores. This is also the case for this 2018 bottling of a Springbank that matured for 22 years in a bourbon hogshead. 277 bottles came from that cask, at 55.8% cask strength.

In 2006, Islay distillery Bowmore released this bottling in their Cask Strength series Vaults. The peated single malt whisky was bottled at 56.0% ABV. How long the whisky was matured and in which casks is unknown, but it tastes like a sherried dram.

A unique bottling, this Ben Nevis 1996! Archives released it in 2019, not in one of their well-known series, but as 'Gene's Dram' for WhiskJockey Canton in China. The 23-year-old, bourbon-matured single malt whisky scores 90 points on Whiskybase! (50.1%)
With Taiwanese ART, Archives bottled a Ben Nevis single malt whisky in 2015 that had matured for 16 years in a bourbon cask. A beautiful combination of the fruity, maritime and modestly smoky character of the Islay malt and the notes of the cask. (55.4%)
The Arran distillery started in 1995. In early 1998, the spirit for this Arran single malt whisky went into the sherry cask. In 2007, 9 years later, it was bottled at cask strength (57.1%). So we are really talking about an early Arran. Interesting!
For the Dutch The Specialists' Choice, The Whisky Agency bottled this Bunnahabhain single malt whisky in 2011. The 'Bunna' matured for 10 years in a sherry cask. It is a pleasantly drinkable, pleasantly sherried dram. (Bottled at 46% in 414 bottles)
In 2014, Glenfarclas Distillery bottled 536 bottles of their single malt whisky, matured for 14 years in 2 refill sherry casks, for a German whisky club. It is a typical, sherried Glenfarclas at a hefty cask strength of 59.9%, but very pleasant to drink.
This is a bottling in The Signature Series of Arran. The distillery releases special bottlings in this series, such as this 3rd edition: the 12-year-old single malt whisky matured in bourbon and 1st-fill Spanish red wine (Duero) casks. (Bottled at 50%)
The Redbreast 18-year-old is a new core bottling from this brand. The single pot-still whisky matured in a unique combination of casks: bourbon, Ruby Port, Oloroso and Cream Sherry. This resulted in a creamy, fruity and spicy, very drinkable dram. (46%)
The Marsala casks in which this single malt whisky is finished give it warming, wintry notes of cocoa, Brazilian nut toffee and cinnamon, alongside light, fruity notes and honey. And that was exactly what Glenmorangie distillery intended. (13y, 46% ABV)
This Hemel & Hellevuur (Heaven & Hellfire) Dutch single malt whisky is bottled by 3006 Whisky. The whisky from the young Brabant distillery Bossche Stokers matured for 5 years in an Oloroso octave cask, and is bottled at a cask strength of 54.7%.
Over the years, Ardbeg has released several experimental bottlings. In 2014, there was, among others, this extra special Auriverdes Gold, in a limited edition of only 300 bottles. The peated single malt whisky matured in toasted American oak. (49.9% ABV)
This Chieftain's edition, a bottling of the lightly peated Highland whisky Ardmore, was released in 2012. The single malt matured for a total of 10 years, with the final period spent in a Manzanilla cask. It was bottled at a cask strength of 55.9% ABV.
