Bowmore Claret - no tube

Looking for an old-fashioned, special Bowmore? Here's your bottle! It is from a bottling from 1999 for which the Islay single malt whisky matured in Claret Bordeaux wine casks. Maturing or finishing in wine casks was exceptional at the time. (750ml, 56%)

Glenglassaugh 1986 Jack Wiebers Whisky World

When this Jack Wiebers bottling was released in 2006, the Glenglassaugh Distillery had been mothballed for twenty years (only to reopen in 2008). The single malt whisky in this bottling matured for 20 years in a sherry cask and was bottled at 54.6%.

Dallas Dhu 1974 Jack Wiebers Whisky World

After an eventful existence, the Dallas Dhu distillery closed in 1983, after which fewer and fewer bottlings of this single malt whisky were released in the following years. In 2007, there was this Jack Wiebers bottling, 32 years old, bourbon-aged, 51.1%.

Tamdhu 29-year-old Moon-Import - Damaged wax

The bottle looks old, the label shows an old car, and the bottle contains a whopping 29-year-old Tamdhu single malt whisky. It is a bottling from the famous Moon-Import, a bottling that scores more than 89 points on Whiskybase. This is a 'must have'! 43%

Caperdonich 1976 The Bottlers

The Bottlers, a very high-scoring bottler, hardly release any bottlings anymore (the last one in 2015, as far as we know), but in 2004, they released this 27-year-old single malt whisky from the Caperdonich Distillery that closed in 2002. (54.3%)

Port Charlotte 2001 Cask No. R 10

This is one of the very first Port Charlotte whiskies, the peated single malt from the Bruichladdich Distillery! Young, at 3 years old, and strong (62.7%), it was released in a private bottling in an edition of only 32 bottles. A piece of whisky history!

An Islay Distillery 2010 Hogshead Imports

Dutch bottler Hogshead Imports doesn't mention the name of the Islay distillery of this single malt whisky on the label, but it's an Ardbeg. And a great one! 13 years in a refill barrel showcases Ardbeg's distillery character at its best. (55.8%)

Texas Legation Bourbon Whiskey - Berry Bros & Rudd

'Made in Texas, Accredited in London' says the label of this bourbon whiskey distilled in the Ironroot Republic Distillery. London-based Berry Bros & Rudd bottled this Texas Legation Batch No.2 in 2018 in an edition of 5,000 bottles at 46.2%.

Ben Nevis 2007 Blackadder - Ingelred

In 2007, this Ben Nevis was vatted in a bourbon cask and then transferred in 2021 to a PX cask for finishing. However, due to corona, the single malt remained in that cask much longer than intended. That resulted in a nicely sherried dram! (15 y, 50.2%)

Ben Nevis 2012 Blackadder - Ingelred

Ingelred is a Scandinavian label under bottler Blackadder's supervision, mainly releasing Ben Nevis single malt whiskies, such as this one. The 11-year-old Highlander, with its dark amber colour, matured in a Marsala cask and is bottled at 51.7%.

Auchroisk 20-year-old

This Auchroisk is a Diageo Special Release from 2010 with a classic label. It is a Special Release indeed, because 20-year-old cask strength bottlings of the Speyside single malt whisky are not very common. Complex, sweet and very aromatic. (58.1%)

Benromach 2000 - Peat Smoke

Distillery Benromach usually releases unpeated single malt whisky, but sometimes a smoky variant appears, such as this Peat Smoke from 2007. It matured for 7 years in fresh bourbon casks, resulting in a nice combination of fruity and smoky notes. (46%)

Royal Brackla 2011 Double-V

The Belgian whisky friends club Double-V releases several times a year bottlings of whiskies that have matured in their private cellar. This is one of them: a 12-year-old Royal Brackla single malt whisky at 54.5% cask strength. For a great price!

Old Pulteney 2007 Whisky AGE

The Pulteney Distillery in the Highlands releases many bottlings of their Old Pulteney single malt whisky; you don't see independent bottlings very often. But this is one: a 16-year-old malt matured in a bourbon barrel, bottled at 55.3% cask strength.

Bunnahabhain 2009 Staoisha Whisky AGE

At 15 years old, this Staoisha is the oldest we had in the store so far. The peated single malt whisky from the Bunnahabhain Distillery matured all those years in a re-charred bourbon cask before being bottled by Whisky AGE at 53.0% cask strength.

Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt - Batch 23/246

For an excellent price, you can get all five Campbeltown single malt whiskies together in one bottle: Springbank, Hazelburn, Longrow, Glen Scotia and Kilkerran! The blend matured in bourbon and sherry casks, resulting in a mild, creamy and rich dram. 46%

Kilkerran 05-year-old Heavily Peated

This 5-year-old Kilkerran, matured in Oloroso sherry casks, was one of the whiskies featured in the Online Tasting Week organized by Glengyle Distillery in 2021. A sturdy single malt-whisky for its age, well-peated and full of flavour. (58.2% ABV)

Elijah Craig Straight Rye

The Elijah Craig brand is known for its bourbons, but here is their first Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, distilled from spicy rye and corn. A soft, smooth whisky with notes such as dark chocolate, honey, baking spices and oak, with a hint of smoke. (47%)

Ballechin 2011 Ultimate - Cask 273

In 2003 Edradour released under the name Ballechin their first whisky distilled from peated barley malt. A smoky single malt whisky. For the series The Ultimate Van Wees bottled this 10-year-old Ballechin. It matured in a large sherry cask. Bottled at 46%

Dingle Grianstad an tSamhraidth

This Dingle single pot still whiskey is a real whisky for long summer evenings (Grianstad an tSamhraidth is Irish for summer solstice). Matured in bourbon and finished in rye whisky casks. Also quite enjoyable the rest of the year, by the way. (52.5%)

Lochside 1991 The Daily Dram

The Lochside Distillery closed in 1992 after only about 35 years in operation, but in that short time, their single malt whisky had built up a very good name. This bottling (17 years, 46%) from 2008 can now be called a collector's item, so, be quick!

Glenlossie 1982 Gordon & MacPhail

You don't come across Glenlossie single malt whisky very often, especially not a 40-year-old Glenlossie! What makes this bottling from Gordon & MacPhail even more special is the high cask strength of 60.2% after four decades in a bourbon cask.

SRV5 Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 08-year-old Thompson Brothers

A new edition in the SRV5 series from brothers Phil and Simon Thompson, so another new bottling of an 8-year-old blended malt whisky at 48.5%. This is the kind of whisky for an evening with friends; it is pleasant to drink and affordable, too.

Dailuaine 1997 Gordon & MacPhail

This Dailuaine single malt whisky matured in a refill sherry cask for 24 years. It was an active cask because the whisky came out at a cask strength of only 41.6%. This resulted in notes such as fruitcake, orange, ginger, black pepper, and aniseed.
