The Whiskey Fair is the label under which the annual whisky festival in Limburg, Germany, releases bottlings. This Cooley 2001 is one of the bottles for the 2023 edition. This 21-year-old Irish single malt whisky matured in an Amarone cask. (55.8%)
A famous range of sherried single malt whiskies is The Family Casks by Glenfarclas. Cask strength bottlings and matured in sherry casks. They are single-cask bottlings, so each edition is unique. This one is 27 years old and bottled at 50.2% cask strength
Although the Cambus grain distillery closed 30 years ago, bottlings of the single-grain whisky still appear every now and then. This one is from Signatory Vintage. The whisky matured for 31 years in a refill Oloroso sherry cask and is bottled at 50.5%.
Here's another special edition from Highland-distillery Deanston. They previously released 15-year-old bottlings that were finished in Marsala or Sauternes casks; here the single malt whisky was finished in Tequila casks. And that is quite special! 52.5%
Distilling since 2013 in the far north of Scotland, Wolfburn reached a new milestone with the release of their first batch of 10-year-old whisky. This whisky fully matured in Oloroso sherry casks and is bottled at 46%. Non-chill-filtered and natural color
Of course it's not about the bottle, but the bottle of this Dalmore 12 single malt whisky really is impressive! The whisky itself is a Dalmore core bottling and with its nice balance and complexity a good example of what Dalmore has to offer. (40%)
For several years now Glenfiddich is releasing single malt whisky bottlings according to the solera system originating from the sherry world. In short: each new bottling is mixed with the remains of all previous bottlings! All bottlings are 15 years old.
Ledaig single malt whisky is the peated version of the whisky distilled by the Tobermory Distillery. Ledaig is known for its earthy, farm-like tones. Those notes are also reflected in this bottling, which is extra complex due to 18 years of maturation.
A very affordable Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, distilled in the traditional way. That's this Heaven Hill Old Style Bourbon. This whisky matured in new American oak casks, of course. A great bourbon for an evening with friends. (40%)
Rye whisky mainly comes from the US and Canada. However, this is a 'single rye' whisky from the Danish Stauning, finished in a Moscatel cask and bottled at cask strength by Berry Bros & Rudd. At 4 years old, a young whisky, but with a mature taste palette
'Resfeber' is the wave of emotions you feel at the start of a great journey. Does The Lakes Distillery refer to the feeling just before you open a bottle of this single malt whisky? The whisky matured in cream sherry and red wine casks. (46.6%)
In the Symington's Choice series we have seen some stellar bottlings. The vaults of Signatory seem to contain endless hidden treasures. A 1997 aged for 25 years, almost hitting the 90 point mark. We have no doubt this will be good!
This Port Charlotte bottling label lists the names of the Islay farms that supplied the barley for this edition. This firmly peated Bruichladdich whisky is therefore a real Islay single malt. 7 years old, partly matured in red wine casks, bottled at 50%.
This Glengoyne has matured for 15 years in bourbon and sherry casks, and you can taste that! Pretty complex and intense in the nose and mouth. Fruit, spices, candies and nuts, but also vanilla and cinnamon can be found in this single malt. Bottled at 43%.
A blended Irish whiskey, nice for a change from the Scotch blends! This Powers Gold Label from the Irish Midleton distillery has, of course, been distilled three times, as befits an Irish whiskey, and bottled at 43.2%. For a very reasonable price.
Fruit notes such as ripe apple, mandarin orange and raspberry, notes such as black pepper, cloves and, for example, beeswax, you'll find all this and more in this extraordinary Benromach bottling. The 40-year-old single malt whisky is bottled at 56.5%.
The Original, is the name of this 1770 Glasgow bottling, subtitled Fresh & Fruity. This single malt whisky, from Glasgow indeed, matured in first-fill bourbon casks and is finished in virgin oak. You will find that in the taste palette. Bottled at 46%.
The Glasgow Distillery distills its single malt whisky twice, as most Scottish distilleries do. But sometimes they distill their whisky three times. That produces a softer, lighter dram. This is one of those. Matured in bourbon and virgin oak casks. (46%)
Since 2014, The Glasgow Distillery produces single malt whisky under the brand name 1770 Glasgow. The distillery produces peated and unpeated whisky. This is a bottling of the peated version. Matured in virgin oak casks, finished in PX casks. (46%)
The artistic depiction of a flamenco dancer on the label indicates that the whisky in the bottle matured in a sherry cask, a Palo Cortado cask to be exact. The whisky in the bottle is a 10-year-old Glenrothes single malt at 56.0% cask strength.
Bottled especially for the Dutch market but available with us worldwide, this 10-year-old Glenrothes single malt whisky. It was bottled at cask strength by The Daily Dram after maturing in an oloroso sherry cask. Nice label on it, and there it is! (57.5%)
The Old Pulteney 15 is a core bottling of this Highland distillery. And rightly so: it is a beautiful, characterful, yet mild single malt whisky that double-matured on American and Spanish oak. Nose, taste and finish follow each other harmoniously. (46%)
Annandale whisky? Of course! There was once an Annandale Distillery in the Lowlands that closed in 1924. A reconstructed distillery has been there since 2014, and with this 7-year-old bottling, for example, you can get acquainted with their single malt.
The Victoriana bottlings from Campbeltown Distillery Glen Scotia are always at cask strength. The single malt whisky is finished in deep charred casks for an extra strong cask influence. This 2022 edition has a new label design. (54.2%)
