In this Thompson Bros bottling, two Inchmurrin casks have been blended: a refill bourbon cask and an oloroso cask. The blend is bottled at 52.2%. Overripe peach, strawberry, sultanas, cashews, apricots, a pinch of salt, cappuccino, lime, and more.
Thompson Bros. bottled this single malt from the more than two-century-old Royal Brackla Distillery. It became a purveyor to the Royal Court in 1835, hence the 'Royal'. The Highlander aged for 12 years in 2 1st-fill bourbon casks. For a great price! 46.1%
Thompson Bros. has created truly special bottlings with Mystery Malts! Only when you uncork the black glass bottle do you discover which Scotch single malt you've purchased. It could be a young whisky, or one aged 29 years, and from any region. (46.3%)
The single malt whisky from Speyside distillery Glen Elgin can almost only be tasted as an independent bottling, and here is another one! From Thompson Bros. this time. The malt matured for 19 years in two refill bourbon casks. Bottled at 53.6% ABV.
Highland distillery Edradour, Scotland's Little Gem, blended ten bourbon casks in mid-2026 that had held their single malt whisky; the youngest whisky matured for 14 years. The whisky was bottled in the famous Ibisco decanters. Bottled at 58.6% ABV.
In our opinion, this is the first independent bottling of Lindores Abbey whisky, released by Thompson Bros with medieval label and all. The single malt from the young Lowland distillery matured for 5 years in a re-charred Oloroso cask. (55.9% ABV)
In 2018 came the first spirit from the Lochlea farm in the Scottish Lowlands, converted into a distillery, made from their own barley. And this is a bottling by Thompson Bros. of Lochlea single malt that matured for 6 years in a bourbon cask. (57.1%)
Yet another quality bottling from Phil & Simon Thompson! It is a Highland Park single malt that went into the cask in 2003—a refill sherry cask—and from that, 22 years later, was bottled by the brothers in 336 bottles at a cask strength of 55.9%.
This Orkney (or between us: Highland Park) single malt grew into a well-balanced sherry bomb during its 14 years of maturation in first-fill Oloroso casks, while retaining its distillery profile with a hint of smoke and heather notes. (100 proof; 57.1%)
For a reasonable price, you bring home a very pleasant, drinkable dram with this blended Scotch whisky. This sherried blend from Thompson Bros, of which the youngest whisky is 9 years old, is balanced and sometimes reminds one of old-school blends. (45%)
You will find dried mango, lemon cake, pineapple, vanilla cake, liquorice, cotton candy, and much more in this 17-year-old Glenburgie, matured in a first-fill bourbon cask. The Speyside single malt whisky is bottled by Thompson Bros. at 55.7% ABV.
If you are in the mood for an exemplary Linkwood that is also very reasonably priced, then this 100 Proof edition from Signatory Vintage is a great choice. The classic Speysider aged for 14 years in Oloroso and bourbon casks before being bottled at 57.1%.
North British grain distillery was founded near Edinburgh 150 years ago to supply grain whisky to the blending industry. There are however also single grain bottlings from this brand. Like this one by Thompson Bros, 17-year-old, aged in sherry casks. 48%
Behind an old-fashioned label, this bottle hides a 17-year-old Isle of Jura single malt whisky. It is a bottling by Decadent Drinks. The malt from the Isle of Jura matured in a refill bourbon cask, a barrel, yielding 125 bottles at 54.8% ABV.
And another genuine 100 Proof bottling: excellent quality for a very reasonable price. This time, Signatory Vintage bottled a Mortlach single malt whisky that matured for 11 years in 1st-fill Oloroso and refill bourbon casks. Bottled at 57.1%, of course.
The Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery distils whisky from peated Scottish barley malt and regional barley malt dried over a fire of Scottish peat. This Saburomaru Tarot Card VI - The Lovers (Islay & Highland Peated) is a fine example of this! (48% ABV)

Like many Speyside distilleries, Tamdhu was built to supply malt for the blends. It was not until 1976 that the first Tamdhu single malt was released. And there are independent bottlings like this one: 12 years old, sherry-matured, and nicely priced! 46%
Keep an eye on that new series from Cadenhead, Original Collection! For a very reasonable price, you can find fine bottlings there, such as this 13-year-old Ben Nevis. The classic Highlander matured in both Oloroso and bourbon hogsheads. (46%)
For a very nice price, you bring home a pleasantly drinkable single malt released by quality bottler Cadenhead. It is a Glenlossie, a whisky you almost exclusively encounter as an independent bottling. 12 years old, bourbon-matured, 46% ABV
This Cameronbridge bottling appeared in the Original Collection, the new series from Scotland's oldest bottler, Cadenhead. The single grain whisky from the Lowlands matured for 33 years in bourbon casks before being bottled at a cask strength of 42.7%.
In 2026, a 19-year-old, bourbon-cask-matured Fettercairn single malt appeared in bottler Cadenhead's Original Collection. This relatively unknown Highland whisky is often surprisingly good, and that will be no different with this bottling. (46% ABV)
This Big Peat The Songkran Edition was released on the occasion of the Thai New Year celebration of 2020. Big Peat is the name of the peated blended malts that Douglas Laing regularly releases. Blends of peated Islay malts. (53.3%)
