Single malt whisky is a mixture of malt whisky from casks of the same distillery. Malt whisky is made from barley malt and distilled in pot stills, and has matured for at least 3 years in oak barrels. This whisky usually has a for the distillery characteristic flavor. Is considered the classic whisky.
Family-owned distillery Glenfarclas is known for its sherried single malt whisky. One of their standard bottlings is the 17 year old malt. This is the 2020 edition, matured in oloroso sherry casks. A mature sherried dram for a reasonable price! (43%)

In 2014, Glenfarclas Distillery bottled 536 bottles of their single malt whisky, matured for 14 years in 2 refill sherry casks, for a German whisky club. It is a typical, sherried Glenfarclas at a hefty cask strength of 59.9%, but very pleasant to drink.
Another classic single cask sherry bomb from Speyside Distillery Glenfarclas. This single malt whisky has already scored high in the Whiskybase. It matured from 2003 to 2020 on a large sherry cask ( a butt) from which 653 bottles came at 58.3% strength.
With notes of dried fruit, cocoa, dark chocolate, ginger, cinnamon, raisins, coffee, oranges, and even more chocolate, this is a true, sherried Glenfarclas. And it's at a hefty cask strength (59.4%). The single malt whisky was released in 2017.

With a new label design, this is a bottling in the Our Bourbon Barrel Reserve series from Glenfiddich, the world's most famous single malt whisky distillery. In addition to maturing in bourbon barrels, this favorably priced malt is finished on new oak.
For several years now Glenfiddich is releasing single malt whisky bottlings according to the solera system originating from the sherry world. In short: each new bottling is mixed with the remains of all previous bottlings! All bottlings are 15 years old.

With the Revival bottlings, Highland Distillery Glenglassaugh celebrates its reopening in 2008 after closing in 1986. This bottling matured in bourbon and red wine casks. Young yet complex, with notes of white grapes, dried fruit, honey, and hay. (46%)
Since 2020 the Glengoyne 10 year old standard bottling has a new style of label and box. But the single malt whisky itself has also been renewed, mainly due to the maturation process in different types of casks. But still for a great price! (40%)
If you're looking for an everyday single malt whisky, one that never bores and is affordable, then this could be it: the Glengoyne 12, Unhurried Since 1833. New label and box style and, more importantly, matured in various types of cask. Bottled at 43%.
This Glengoyne has matured for 15 years in bourbon and sherry casks, and you can taste that! Pretty complex and intense in the nose and mouth. Fruit, spices, candies and nuts, but also vanilla and cinnamon can be found in this single malt. Bottled at 43%.
The Whisky Agency released this Glengoyne single malt in 2011 in their series The Perfect Dram. And rightly so! With its 38 years of maturation in a fine ex-bourbon cask, this is a subtle, deliciously drinkable dram with a complex flavour palette. (46.3%)

The 2020 edition of the Glenlivet French Oak Reserve. For this bottling, some of the spirit matured in Limousin oak casks. This resulted in a single malt whisky that, in addition to the fruitiness of Glenlivet, also has notes of vanilla and wood. (40%)
In 1823, George Smith of the Glenlivet Distillery became the first Scot to be granted a license to distil whisky legally. In his honour, Gordon & MacPhail released this uniquely labelled 15-year-old Glenlivet single malt whisky in 2014. (43%)
Glenlivet is one of the best-known single malt whiskies, and the best-selling in the US. And then this Batch Reserve is a special bottling from the Speyside distillery. In the 18 years of maturation, a complex, well-balanced dram has emerged. (40%)
