Strength

A distillery bottling is a bottling by the whisky distillery itself. We also call this 'original brand' bottling or OB. Until the 1970s, there were only 12 distillers in Scotland who released original brands. The whisky from the other distillers that did not disappear into the blends was bottled by independent bottlers.
Almost all distillers now have their own bottlings. This can be standard bottlings that always come in standard quality, or special bottlings in a limited edition. Sometimes even single-cask releases are involved.
But in addition to the OB's, there still appear independent bottlings (IB) from all distilleries.

Aberlour A'bunadh batch #80

A true classic in the world of sherried single malt whisky, the Aberlour A'bunadh. This is the 80th batch already. Matured in Oloroso-sherry casks and at a cask strength of 61.0%, this is a fine whisky for long summer evenings

Lochlea Harvest Edition - Second Crop

After the First Release in 2021, the Sowing Edition and the Harvest Edition No. 1, there is now the Harvest Second Edition from distillery Lochlea, a family business that makes single malt whisky from its own barley. Matured in bourbon, STR and port casks

Glenallachie 12-year-old - Moscatel Finish

We have some fine Glenallachies on offer again, and this is one of them. A 12-year-old bottling in the Wood Finish series. This single malt whisky matured for a total of 12 years, first in bourbon casks, followed by a finishing in Moscatel casks. (48%)

Westland Colere Edition 2

At the American Westland Distillery, it is primarily about what the barley does for their single malt whisky and not the cask. Westland uses different types of barley, and for this Colere Edition 2 it was a variety called Talisman. Bottled at 50.0%.

Bladnoch Alinta - Peated Release

After an eventful history, the Bladnoch Distillery in the Lowlands has been making a come back in style in recent years. A good example of this is this Alinta: a peated single malt whisky that matured in first-fill bourbon and PX sherry casks. (47%)

Royal Lochnagar 12-year-old

A bottling from a modest distillery with a royal warrant. The Royal Lochnager 12 is a good standard bottling, especially considering the favorable price. This single malt whisky easily drinks away. A whisky for every day.

Writers' Tears Copper Pot

Uncomplicated, light and yet full of flavor. That is how you could describe this Irish blended malt. A whisky for every day or, in terms of price too, a nice entry-level dram. It is not known which distilleries produced the malt, but what does it matter?

WhistlePig Homestock Crop No. 004

A special WhistlePig whiskey on several points. Normally, the WhistlePig bottlings are about straight rye whiskey. However, this Homestock is a blend of rye, wheat and barley whiskies designed in corona lockdown at home by fans of the brand! (43%)

Caperdonich 18-year-old - Peated

When the Caperdonich Distillery closed in 2002, it had never released bottlings of their single malt whisky. Remarkably enough, a few original brand bottlings appeared after the closure. Like this one: peated (!), aged for 18 years in bourbon casks, 48%.

Waterford Gaia: Edition 1.1

A young single malt whisky, this Waterford Gaia 1.1. That is no surprise: the first new spirit came out of the stills at the Irish distillery In 2016. But despite its age, this malt is well balanced, after maturing in four different cask types. At 50% ABV

Glenfarclas 10-year-old

Also in terms of price this 10 year old Glenfarclas is a fine 'entry-level' single malt. Light, fruity 'Speyside' tones combined with malt, a hint of smoke and the sweetness of sherry make this whisky easy to drink. At 40%.

Clynelish 1974 Rare Malts Selection - bottle 0430

This Clynelish single malt whisky scores almost 91 points in Whiskybase. With its 1974 vintage and 23 years of maturation, it is a special bottling, released in 1998 as a Rare Malts Selection. It is hard to find anymore, but you can get it from us! 59.1%

Glenmorangie 10-year-old - The Original

This is one of the core bottlings from Glenmorangie Highland Distillery. The distillery is the pioneer of 'finishing' (maturing the whisky at the end in a different type of cask), but this single malt matured for 10 years in the same bourbon casks. (40%)

Glendronach Traditionally Peated

Traditionally peated Glendronach.

Glenrothes 10-year-old

The youngest in the new core series of The Glenrothes. Matured in sherry casks for 10 years, but not a heavily sherried whisky. Lots of fruity and sweet notes, honey and even a hint of cheese. A good introduction to this Speyside distillery.

High West Campfire

Looking for something new in Whiskyland? Then this High West Campfire is definitely a bottle for you! Never before have we come across a blend of bourbon, rye and blended Scotch malt! An exciting experiment from the American High West Distillery. (46%)

Teeling 15-year-old

The Irish Teeling released this 15-year-old single grain whisky. That is young for a single grain, but that does not detract from the drinkability: fruity and fresh, and you can clearly taste that it has been finished in sauvignon blanc casks. (50%)

Macaloney's Darach Poitín

Darach Poitín is Celtic-Irish for oak-aged new make spirit. And that's what this bottling is. A pot-still spirit, triple distilled in the classic Irish way and bourbon-aged, it gives you a good idea of Macaloney's house style. Makes one curious! (46%)

Laphroaig 10-year-old

For those who want to try something different than blended whisky. This Laphroaig 10 has already been the first step for many in the exciting world of single malt whisky. And with its smokiness, salty and medicinal tones, it is also a typical Islay malt.

Arran Millennium Casks

In 2013, the Arran Distillery released a bottling called Millennium Casks. The spirit for this single malt whisky was vatted on December 31, 1999 and January 1, 2000 (35 bourbon and 10 sherry casks). After 13 years this resulted in 7800 bottles at 53.5%.

Glenmorangie X

The quirky distillery Glenmorangie releaseswith this X a single malt whisky that is specially made for mixing. The X is characterized by strong, sweet notes from the bourbon and new oak casks on which it matured. For in your cocktails. Bottled at 40%.
