A special bottling from Highland distillery Deanston. The special thing is the finish: the single malt whisky has matured for a while in casks in which red burgundy previously matured. That gives this 10-year-old malt extra fruity notes. At 46.3% ABV.
Here's another special edition from Highland-distillery Deanston. They previously released 15-year-old bottlings that were finished in Marsala or Sauternes casks; here the single malt whisky was finished in Tequila casks. And that is quite special! 52.5%
Matured in virgin oak casks, this timeless Deanston, but with not too much of the sharpness that new oak brings to whisky. This is a light, not very complex malt with notes of vanilla, honey, spices, fresh sawdust. At 46.3%.
This single malt whisky from the southern Highland distillery Deanston is finished in new oak casks for up to a year and then bottled at a cask strength of 58.5%. A waxy mouthfeel with notes like butterscotch, honey, pudding, green apple and wood.
This Dingle 10 Years Old is a standard bottling from Ireland's Dingle distillery. The single malt matured in a combination of three cask types: bourbon (65%), port (30%), and PX (5%). This resulted in a dram with a complex aroma and flavour palette. 46.5%

Dubhghlas is Scottish for 'black water', and that is the name in Dutch of the river where a new distillery has been built. And this bottling is a preview of the whiskies that Dubhghlas wants to bring to the market. It is a grain, this spirit, at 63.7%.

The Duvel Moortgat Brewery is known for its beer, but sometimes, it also distils whisky. This Celebration Bottle was released in 2023. The 10-year-old, bourbon and sherry-aged, marsala-finished single malt whisky was bottled in this nice bottle at 40%.
In 2021, the Duvel Moortgat brewery released a distillate of their famous beer, aged for 10 years in bourbon and muscatel casks. It was a bottling to celebrate the brewery's 150th anniversary, in bottles shaped like upside-down beer glasses. (40%)

To celebrate its 200th anniversary, Highland distillery Edradour is releasing this very affordable Distillery Edition. The single malt whisky matured for 10 years in Oloroso sherry casks, after being hand-distilled in the picturesque distillery. (46% ABV)
The cask from which this bottling of an Edradour single malt whisky came was selected by songwriter Dougie Maclean. The bottling is named after his song Caledonia. Incidentally, it was an Oloroso sherry cask, on which the malt matured for 12 years. (46%)

In early 2025, Scotland's Little Gem, Highland distillery Edradour, bottled this 12-year-old single malt whisky, matured in three fresh Cabernet Sauvignon casks. It's a balanced dram, without the influence of the wine casks being overpowering. (48.2%)
This Edradour single malt whisky matured for nearly 13 years in four select Pinot Noir casks. The Highlander is bottled from these casks at a strength of 48.2% ABV. It's a fruity dram (think red fruit, apple juice, grapes, and berries) with woody notes.

'Handmade in Scotland's little gem,' says the label, and that's how we know it's an Edradour single malt whisky. The whisky for this Small Batch edition matured for 10 years in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and was bottled at 46% ABV, for a great price.
Is this an independent or a distillery bottling? The bottler is Signatory Vintage, which also owns the Edradour Distillery. It doesn't matter; this is simply a beautifully sherried, 10-year-old, pleasantly drinkable single malt for a nice price. (46%)
Edradour, one of the smallest old distilleries in Scotland (established in 1825), has been focusing on maturing and finishing its single malt whisky in various cask types since the beginning of this century. This sample set provides excellent examples!
