Strength

A distillery bottling is a bottling by the whisky distillery itself. We also call this 'original brand' bottling or OB. Until the 1970s, there were only 12 distillers in Scotland who released original brands. The whisky from the other distillers that did not disappear into the blends was bottled by independent bottlers.
Almost all distillers now have their own bottlings. This can be standard bottlings that always come in standard quality, or special bottlings in a limited edition. Sometimes even single-cask releases are involved.
But in addition to the OB's, there still appear independent bottlings (IB) from all distilleries.

Something different from the well-known Red Labels, this 12-year-old Johnnie Walker Black Label blended whisky. It is the Anniversary Edition that was released in 2008, in a black bottle indeed. Where else can you find one like this? Well, with us!

Arran Quarter Cask - 56.2%

'Quarter Cask' the name says it all: This Arran single malt whisky is aged in small casks. The smaller the cask, the greater the wood influence, the faster the maturation appears to be. This also applies to this distillery bottling at cask strength (56.2%

Kilchoman Machir Bay - Cask Strength 58.3%

Not Kilchoman's standard Machir Bay, but one at cask strength. A 'single farm malt', from home-malted Islay barley. Matured in 90% bourbon and 10% sherry casks, the Machir Bay is medium smoky with sweet notes, citrus and vanilla. Bottled at 58.3%.

Roseisle 12-year-old - Diageo Special Releases 2023

The first edition of Roseisle single malt whisky! The distillery, built by Diageo and opened in 2010, primarily produces for the blending industry. But now in Diageo's Special Releases this 12-year-old, bourbon-matured Roseisle! (bottled at 56.5%)

Dingle Grianstad an Gheimhridh

A real winter whisky, this Dingle single malt, released in the Wheel of the Year series. The name of this edition refers to the Celtic celebration of the winter solstice. It is a warm, full-bodied dram, matured in bourbon and finished in port casks. 50.5%

Yellow Spot 12-year-old

Yellow Spot is an Irish single pot-still whiskey. It is distilled from malted and unmalted barley. This Yellow Spot matured for 12 years in 3 types of cask: bourbon, sherry and malaga. That results in a sweet, fruity, smooth and silky dram with body.

Millstone 2013 - 100 Rye Whisky

A new 100 whisky by the Dutch Zuidam distillery. A 100 Rye Whisky: 100 proof, 100 months old, 100% rye, 100% milled by Dutch mills, 100% small pot still distillation, 100% aged in new American oak and... well, too many 100% to mention! A real 100% whisky!

Benromach 2012 Contrasts: Kiln Dried Oak

In the Contrasts series, Benromach has released two bottlings of their virgin oak matured single malt whisky. This bottling matured for 10 years in kiln-dried virgin oak casks: creamy, tropical fruit, lime, apple, sweet barley, menthol, peat smoke. (46%)

Fercullen - First Release

Fercullen First Release, the first whisky from the new Irish Powerscourt Distillery. In Irish tradition, this is a triple-distilled single malt whisky (or 'whiskey' in Irish)—a pleasantly drinkable, promising whisky with character. Bottled at 46%.

High West Rendezvous Rye

This is no 'normal' rye whiskey that the High West Distillery releases, this is a blend of straight rye whiskeys. And you don't see that often! You really can taste from this bottling that High West was awarded as best distillery in America in 2016. (46%)

Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength - 56.2%

Machrie Moor is the brand under which Arran releases peated malt. And within this brand there are the Cask Strength bottlings in a limited edition. The Machrie Moor's have their own character, different from the peated Islay's for example.

Amrut Indian Single Malt Whisky

Another new batch! This Indian Single Malt Whisky from the Indian distiller Amrut is aged in the warm, Middle Indian climate in oak barrels, and filled at 46%. Also considering the price, this base bottling is a nice introduction to Indian whisky.

Glenallachie 12-year-old

If you are looking for a solid sherried single malt whisky in which you can also taste the distillery character, then this 12 year old Glenallachie could be something. The Speysider matured in oloroso and PX casks, but also in virgin oak. Bottled at 46%.

Benrinnes 1974 Rare Malts Selection - bottle 2048

Interesting! A distillery bottling of Benrinnes single malt whisky with vintage 1974! This Speysider was bottled in 1996, at the age of 21. You can find this bottling here and there, but nowhere for such a competitive price as in our shop!

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked

Woodford Reserve is one of the oldest distilleries in Kentucky and still produces according to tradition. With this bottling, the straight bourbon whiskey has undergone a second maturation on a different 'white oak' barrel. For an extra rich taste.

Convalmore 1978 Rare Malts Selection - bottle 3106

Speyside distillery Convalmore closed as early as 1983. Little chance that you will come across a bottle of this single malt whisky. But now there is one in our shop! Vintage 1978 and 24 years old. A bottle that rightly scores very well. Take your chance!

Daddy Rack 03-year-old + 8 months

No, this is not bourbon, but a closely related Tennessee Straight Whiskey. The difference is in extra carbon filtering. This more than 3-year-old Daddy Rack was made according to an old recipe by a team of experienced distillers and cellarmasters. (57.8%)

Aberlour A'bunadh Alba Batch 8

The A'bunadh series from the Aberlour Distillery is a classic when it comes to sherried single malt whisky with its distinctive reddish-brown colour. But this is an A'bunadh Alba (Latin 'alba' = white). No sherry at all, but aged in bourbon casks! 60.1%

Glendronach 15-year-old Revival

One of Scotland's older single malt whisky distilleries, Glendronach in the Speyside, is best known for its sherried whisky. And within those sherried bottlings, the 15-year-old Revival series is a classic. This is the 2022 release, bottled at 46%.

Glen Mhor 1976 Rare Malts Selection - bottle 1270

This Glen Mhor single malt whisky was casked in 1976. 28 years later, the distillery had long since been demolished, it was bottled at 51.9%. In the following years, this dram received very good marks and became increasingly rare. And now it's in our shop

Glen Scotia 15-year-old

This 15-year-old single malt is a good example of Campbeltown whisky in general and of Glen Scotia in particular. This standard bottling has a lot of character with its typical mineral notes and a hint of smoke and salt. Worth considering!

Amrut Peated Indian Cask Strength

The Indian distillery Amrut proves with its Peated Indian bottlings that they can also produce nicely peated single malt whiskies. And that also applies to the Cask strength version. At 62.8%, it is strong in alcohol.

Dallas Dhu 1975 Rare Malts Selection - bottle 5312

A real old, rare bottle now. This Dallas Dhu single malt whisky was bottled in 1997 (61.9% ABV) long after the distillery closed. The very good scoring dram is now in our shop for a competitive price. Take your chance!
