This core bottling from Glenmorangie has been finished in PX and oloroso-sherry casks. This is reflected in notes like raisins, figs and chocolate biscuits. A beautiful, warm whisky for winter evenings, this 12-year-old Highlander. Bottled at 43%.
This Cley single malt was triple distilled in a copper pot still. It matured in a virgin oak cask for 3 years, and was finished for 1.5 years in a cask, formerly used for maturing Glen Scotia single malt. Intense notes of pear, banana and marzipan. (53%)
The 18-year-old version is one of the core bottlings from Highland distillery Glencadam. The single malt whisky matured in carefully selected ex-bourbon casks. Smooth and pleasant to drink, with fruity notes and notes like vanilla and nutmeg. (46%)
This Benrinnes single malt whisky matured in three first-fill bourbon casks. After 10 years it was released by Van Wees under the 'The Ultimate' label, known for its affordable bottlings. An excellent option to get to know this Speysider! Bottled at 46%.
Although one of the larger single malt whisky distilleries in the Speyside, Dailuaine is not very well known. They hardly release distillery bottlings. So we have to look at bottlers like Van Wees, with this 13-year-old dram, for example, bottled at 46%.
The young Indian distillery Piccadily, where among others a Scottish master distiller works, was awarded the title Best Indian Single Malt for one of its earlier bottlings. That makes you curious about this bourbon-matured Drú at cask strength (57.2%)
This bottle is one of the first 500 bottles in the Whiskybase. This is also an exceptional bottle in other respects: it is a 32-year-old, sherried Springbank single malt whisky with a vintage year of 1971! And then it scores more than 91 points! (46%)
There are whisky enthusiasts who still regret the closure of the Lochside Distillery in 1992. The single malt whisky from the Highland distillery was highly appreciated! We hope to provide some comfort with this 19-year-old Lochside bottling from 2011.
Where can you come across bottles like this anymore? Well, with us! Some still mourn the closing of the Convalmore Distillery in 1985. Rightly so! This 26-year-old Convalmore single malt whisky can certainly soothe that sadness! (bottled at 46%)
About ten years ago, bottler Cadenhead released this special bottling for the Belgian market. It is a 35 year (!) old Tomatin single malt whisky that matured in a bourbon cask. Nearly 200 tasters gave this dram an average of 90 points! (46.5%)
Fettercairn started distilling whisky two centuries ago, and the spirit for their single malt whisky still flows from the stills. Hart Brothers chose a bourbon cask on which Fettercairn aged for 15 years for their Single Cask - Cask Strength series. 55.9%
Not only does Glenallachie distill the spirit for the Meikle Tòir bottlings from peated barley malt, the fermentation time is also almost three times as long as usual. This unique 5-year-old bottling also matured partly in virgin Chinquapin oak! (48%)
Meikle Tòir is the peated variant of the single malt whisky from the Glenallachie distillery. This Original is 5 years old. It matured in a combination of bourbon and virgin casks and casks that previously contained rye whisky which makes one curious. 50%
James Eadie bottled 285 bottles of this Royal Brackla single malt whisky at a sturdy cask strength of 58.9%. The whisky from the Highland distillery, which is more than two centuries old, matured for 10 years in a scraped and then re-charred bourbon cask.
Bottler James Eadie released a 12-year-old, bourbon-matured and 59.1% strong Glen Ord single malt whisky with this bottling. In Asia, the whisky is known for its Singleton or Glen Ord bottlings. The brand is little known elsewhere, however. Curious?
This WhiskySponge bottling results from the 'marriage' of two casks, a 1st fill sherry and a 1st fill bourbon cask, in which Glentauchers single malt whisky has matured for 18 years. This marriage yielded a total of 250 bottles at a strength of 53% ABV.
The 2023 autumn edition of Decadent Drinks series Equinox & Solstice is a bottling of two refill bourbon casks in which Aberfeldy single malt whisky matured for 10 years. Robust and full of character, this is a perfect warming whisky for the autumn. 48.5%
Regular visitors to our webshop will know that behind names like secret or unnamed Orkney the well-known Highland Park single malt whisky is hidden. This reasonably priced Unnamed Orkney by Van Wees is 17 years old and matured in a refill sherry cask.
This single malt whisky from the southern Highland distillery Deanston is finished in new oak casks for up to a year and then bottled at a cask strength of 58.5%. A waxy mouthfeel with notes like butterscotch, honey, pudding, green apple and wood.
Specially released for the Dutch market, but of course available worldwide through us: a 13-year-old Craigellachie single malt whisky at cask strength (55.3%), matured in a bourbon cask. Taste tropical fruit, baked apple, mature oak, pepper and much more.
In honor of Dutchman Han van Wees's 60th anniversary in the whisky trade (think of The Ultimate whisky bottlings), Gordon & MacPhail released this 14-year-old Caol Ila single malt whisky. The peated Islay malt matured in a first-fill sherry cask. (52.8%)
After the First Release in 2021, the Sowing Edition and the Harvest Edition No. 1, there is now the Harvest Second Edition from distillery Lochlea, a family business that makes single malt whisky from its own barley. Matured in bourbon, STR and port casks
The Small Batch series is the successor to the SFTC series from the small Highland distillery Edradour. This 12-year-old single malt whisky was released in that new series. It matured in Italian wine casks; Barbaresco casks, to be precise. (48.2%)
We have some fine Glenallachies on offer again, and this is one of them. A 12-year-old bottling in the Wood Finish series. This single malt whisky matured for a total of 12 years, first in bourbon casks, followed by a finishing in Moscatel casks. (48%)
